Hector Lombard’s conqueror, Tim “The Barbarianâ€￾ Boetsch, has joined that exquisite clique of fighters vying for a showdown with UFC 185-pound linchpin Anderson Silva.

In true Chris Weidman style, Boetsch claims he possesses the requisite skill set to submit the perennial champion.

For me, when a guy runs his mouth and there's high expectations, it's part of fighting. I've find that I'm kind of the opposite of that. I wanna perform, and maybe that's why I'm not on the radar, and everybody's not talking about me. But, if I beat enough people, it's gonna be hard to ignore me, and it's gonna be hard to deny me that title shot. I'm not sure who they're gonna put in front of me, after a win over Hector, after a win over Okami, but whoever they put in front of me, next, I'll get the win. I think I match up great (with Anderson Silva). He struggles with wrestlers, and I'm a wrestler that also can do a lot of damage with my fists and kicks and submissions. I haven't been showing my submission game much, but we'll save that for the world championship. If I need to submit Anderson Silva, I know I can (via Inside MMA, h/t MMAMania.com).

Belief in one’s self is a great human characteristic, but seriously? This coming from a guy who just about scraped passed Lombard?

 No. I honestly think Tim will never get a shot at Silva anyways so it doesn't matter.

Why does the guy who reported this have to add his two cents? Reporters are there to report the news, not spout an opinion. Thats our job.

Anyways, I can say I could submit Anderson Silva too, doesn't mean I could, but I can say that.

Shoot I'ma say it, I'ma claim it, and I'ma believe it... then get knocked the F out. Timmy is in over his head if he thinks he can beat Anderson Silva. Silva would be a lot more accurate with his strikes than Lombard was. And then Okami... I don't know what in the world happened to him in that fight cause he was owning him in the first round and then just blew it in the second.

And Timmy wants to boast about his wrestling... I think Chael would have better wrestling than Timmy.

All these guys calling him out are TKO1 fodder.

Anderson could beat them all in a gauntlet match.

Well that wouldn't be fair to them. Gotta have it as a handicap match. Put them all in there at once against Anderson. That way they'll at least stand a chance.

Silva and his manager came out today and said the only fight that makes sense for him is a fight with GSP, also said that he shouldn't have to fight these "amateur" fighters.

Haha good to hear that they are being nice and blunt about these potential opponents. It is the popular thing again to call him out since there isn't a clear opponent for Silva now that he has dealt with Sonnen again. I think that Boetsch will need to put in some more impressive performances before he will be talked about for a title shot.
