Tickets for the UFC’s return to Texas, “UFC 136: Edgar vs. Maynard III,” go on sale this week.
Featuring a lightweight title fight (and trilogy bout) between current champ Frankie Edgar and Gray Maynard, as well as featherweight champ Jose Aldo putting his belt on the line against Kenny Florian, UFC 136 takes place Oct. 8 at Houston’s Toyota Center.
Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Aug. 19, but a pre-sale period begins Aug. 17.
Tickets, which will be available at ToyotaCenterTix.com, range from $50 to $350.
The public on-sale date begins at 11 a.m. ET on Friday, Aug. 19. However, UFC Fight Club members can purchase tickets on Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. ET, and UFC.com e-newsletter subscribers can buy tickets Thursday, Aug. 18 at 11 a.m. ET.
Other top bouts from the stacked card include a likely No. 1 contender fight between middleweights Chael Sonnen and Brian Stann, a heavyweight bout between Dave Herman and Mike Russow and a key lightweight contest between Melvin Guillard and Joe Lauzon.
The UFC hasn’t visited Houston since UFC 69 in April 2007. That card will forever be remembered as the night massive underdog Matt Serra unseated Georges St-Pierre to claim the UFC’s welterweight title.
UFC 136 will get a two-bout “UFC Prelims” special on Spike TV, and the remaining prelims are expected to stream on Facebook.
