Ok, I'm sure most people have heard talk about an NFL team being put, or being relocated, into Canada, and more specifically, Toronto.
What are people's thoughts on this, considering most people on here enjoy the NFL.

Now, I can see why people would disagree with it. Even though I am in Toronto, I don't know if I would completely support the idea either.

Toronto is first, and foremost, a hockey city. Many of the fans are Leaf fans and only Leaf fans.
However, Toronto and surrounding area that make up the Greater Toronto Area, is home to almost 10 million people, so there is no doubt it has a bug population.

Toronto definately has just as much, even more people in it than alot of current US cities that have NFL teams, so population isn't an issue, and after the first year, I'm sure Toronto would be able to pull in 50,000 people to a game (probably not 80 thousand though).

But, again, I can see why some american's wouldn't want an NFL team to come to Toronto. Because yes, it is an american game. Not football, but I mean the NFL is an american game, and has become a huge, and I mean huge tradition down there, so some might now want it to leave the country.
I also get that some people may be concerned about if Toronto could draw enough fans to hold one, and I can understand that reason too, because even though when the Bills played in Toronto, they got about 48,000 for that game (pre season), I still wouldn't be confident they could get more than 50,000 a game.

So anyways, what are your thoughts on an NFL team to Canada, because I've heard alot of talk about it recently? Why would you be in favor or not be in favor of this happening? Post your thoughts...

For my opinion, I could go either way. I think it would be a good idea to add a team, because there are actually alot of people who follow the NFL in Canada, and Ontario, but I also wouldn't be crushed if one didn't come, because I can still watch NFL games all the time anyways.

It would be sweet if they did that but the NFL has 32 teams, 4 in each Division, so if they made another team, they'd have to make an extra one just to make it even again. Plus, Toronto isn't that far from New York and Vancouver isn't that far from Seattle...

^Ya, or they could move a team, but either way you put it, new team or existing team, I don't think it would be too bad. I know I would go to a few games, and cheer for them, and there are alot of people here, so it could work... Also, ya, Toronto isn't far from New York, so teams wouldn't be like they are travelling further than usual. Also, out in western Canada, football is actually pretty big there, and the CFL teams they have there sell out pretty well every game (about 45 or 50 thousand people), so there would eb a good option too.

Don't you guys already have the CFL? Isn't that supposed to be like the NFL of Canada?

^We have the cfl, but that's not the NFL of canada. And the way your saying it sounds like you think I'm the one asking for the nfl in canada, lol. I wouldn't mind it in Canada, but that's not why I brought up the topic, I brought it up because there's been legitamite talk about it.
Oh, and, the CFL sucks anyways.

I think the NFL should relocate the Chiefs or the Dolphins...neither of those teams have a big fanbase....they could easily be moved to SkyDome...

Only team that might moved here is Buffalo. They're the closest and most of our residence live there already. I think it's good for business that the NFL has 8 games in 5 years up here but at the Bills/Steelers pre-season game there was CFL protesters.

Fuck the CFL. Half of their players are undraftees and former NFL hopefulls.

^Haha, exactly, and there's going to be protesters anywhere.
I like the Bills playing here a few games a year though.

I think the Bills will probably move there once they change owners. They have great fans in Buffalo, but I think it's tough for them to attract people from other places other than from Buffalo, maybe because of their geographical location. I think a full move will devastate the Buffalo community. I think when they move, they should split their home games between the two cities. I think it'll make the bills more viable, and not hurt Buffalo.

i have always thought the next logical step that the nfl and the canadian league could really make happen was to merge.that way,it really would be a world league maybe then we could see a superbowl played in canada whether it's in a dome or outside in the middle of winter.itwould make the game more exciting and competitive. just seems like an idea in which everybody would win.
