Combat Zone Wrestling the most "Ultraviolent" indy promotion there is...CZW is one of those love hate promotions where you either love it, or despise it. I'm a fan of traditional wrestling. Hardcore wrestling is fun to watch and can be extremely entertaining at times, but there comes a point where I have to draw the line. I have no problem with hardcore wrestling and I believe it has a place in wrestling, but I don't agree with basing an entire promotion on hardcore wrestling. Hardcore wrestling was popular in the 90's which was evident with ECW. When ECW folded in 2001 independent wrestling promoters filled ECW's absence with promotions like XPW and CZW, but both promotions brought the violence level to an all time high. There is a reason promotions like XPW, FMW, and ECW doesnt exist anymore. I believe a promotion solely based on "hardcore" type of wrestling can not survive in the long run. Hardcore fans are only a small portion of wrestling fans. If you want a successful promotion, you cant just cater to a small portion of fans. I'm actually surprised CZW has survived as long as it has. I believe CZW will never make noise as a wrestling organization unless they change there way of going about business. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of hardcore wrestling, but cutting a guy with a weed whacker is just too much....How do you guys feel about CZW and its future?

*remember this is my opinion*

My opinoin on CZW is that its horrible and shouldn't even be allowed I've only seen one CZW match and after that I never wanted to see it again. It's not even real wrestling it's just people hitting other people with weapons the only moves that I saw were a back suplex and suicide dives. It makes real wrestling look like shit I hate CZW and I always will hate CZW.

At one point, CZW had some talented guys (Shelley,Dutt,Hero,Castagnoli) but as the years have passed, CZW has become a total joke. Its gone from having a mix of hardcore/garbage wrestling and some REAL wrestling. Now, its just garbage and most of the guys on the roster can't tell the difference between a wristlock and a wristwatch.

Since, the ROH-CZW feud, its been all downhill for CZW.

I agree basically with what Soulpower said i didn't mind it a couple of years ago it was alright but now i despise it i can't pin point exactly when it went down hill but as Soulpower said after ROH/CZW feud is about right (That was a great feud)
I also dont get all the hype about "Necro Butcher" way way over-rated in my opinion.

The little place in the back of your mind that you
CZW is a joke and shouldn't be permitted in the wrestling world, all it is is wrestlers cutting each other with some "extreme" objects and a lot of spots but when CZW actually had some great wrestlers back in the day they were a lot better in my standings but it has become a real joke lately for me and I don't even look at the results thread for CZW results anymore. I did like the CZW vs ROH feud though.

CZW isn't as hardcore as you think. There's only like, one or two if any hardcore matches on a card. It's the one of the only places you can see high flyers like Ruckus, Sabian, Derek Frazier, etc... Although lately, the booking has been SO awful that it hurts everything.

From the posts in this thread I'm being led to assume that none of you have seen a CZW show from beginning to end.

I've seen a couple and their style of wrestling holds no interest to me, and their death matches are just garbage.

^I have actually seen quite a few CZW shows. Guys like Chris Hero, Claudio Castagnoli, Ruckus, Sabian are all great wrestlers as well as CZW alumni, I just believe a promotion only catering to a small portion of wrestling fans can not survive in the long run. Look at ECW, most people say ECW died because they couldn't get on network television after TNN...I'm pretty sure ECW not getting a secure television deal had something to do with their "Extreme" ways. IMO The Chris Benoit controversy has given wrestling a black eye in a way and it will only make it more difficult for promotion like CZW to survive.

CZW is good I like it even though I watch it on the web it brings alot to the table and has a lot of talent I like CZW as it's a good break from SD! (and WWE in general) CZW is awesme but it needs more cash
