That Mania was one of the worse IMO. The Nasty's winning the tag belts was ace though.

Some cool Birthdays today.

Someone explain to me again how Rick Rude has never won a World Title, for some reason the NWA he won off Flair doesn't count.

Because it was this "WCW International Title" clusterfuck. I don't even know the details behind it, but it was when Vader and Ron Simmons were defending the actual WCW Title and the International Title was the big gold belt.

But when Rude won it from Flair I'm pretty sure it was called the NWA title (WCW bought it back at the start of 93) might it have something to do with the NWA no longer being considered a National Championship?

I think they called it that on air, but it wasn't technically. I think the actual NWA title was being defended in smaller promotions at the time because WCW already broke away from it. And the NWA has always still been considered a global title, it's the reason that technically guys like Chris Candido and Rob Conway are technically world champions. A lot of people do count the International title win though as technically it was a world title in WCW at the time along with the WCW title.

It was from Flair fucking over WCW and taking the belt to WWF, forcing WCW to make a new title, and having to rename it on the fly because Flair got butthurt Vince chose Bret over him and went crying back to Atlanta with the Big Gold Belt......Unified it against Sting when they signed Hogan in 94.

Forgot to mention, what shit ratings original ECW got on TNN, thought they were supposed to be at one point the number two promotion in the country......What a non factor they were when the numbers face you. Look at Raws ratings on the same network 3 years later and when they were on the down turn in popularity.

Don't think ECW was ever number two just a good alternative at one point, but yeah their downfall did come when moving to a big network.

Just reminded me of that Rise and Fall of ECW doc, where they lead you to believe that. Or every ECW documentary for that matter.

Their downfall was signing such a onesided contract where they pay them to air their show, not the other way around like they did with WWE.
