That was a classy PPV.

And hahaha WCW havin' Goldberg beat Hogan on Nitro instead of waiting for a PPV.

I actually don't think that was that big a deal, that Nitro did feel like a PPV in itself, and the build up to Goldberg's title win was very effective. The mistake they made was not having a re-match on PPV, and letting Hogan and co. over shadow the new champion.

Not that big of a deal? The made this mawrewttch on 3 days notice, the rating wasn't even that great, and it just made the company look so short sided. It was a Blue move, because that could've given them a serious PPV buyrate. And yet they gave it away for free That would be like having Brock Lesnar wrestling on a Raw, would be stupid.

But things were different back then raw and Nitro were such big shows in some ways they were equal to the PPVs. Also, its the flagship show and the build was great so I honesty didn't mind it, its just they didn't do anything with it after that.

On the flip side its still one of the most memorable moments in rasslin history, and I dont think you would of got the same buzz with it happening on a PPV.

I don't think it's too big of a deal that it happened on Nitro, and big title changes happening on Raw and Nitro were pretty common anyway, but this wasn't just a big title change. They had been building Goldberg for almost two years as this monster, and he's finally getting his title shot. They should have held off on that until a PPV in my opinion. It was a fun moment though.
