MEDFORD, Mass. -- The FBI is asking for the public’s help after sophisticated criminals stole more than $200,000 from a Bank of America ATM in Medford on Dec. 3.
The thieves defeated what the FBI called “multiple, complex security precautions†and then broke into the ATM and removed all of the cash.
The ATM was located inside a building that is being renovated and the kiosk was the only finished area of the building.
The FBI said it did not know how the thieves got in, but agents are looking for anyone who is “knowledgeable about ATMs, alarm and telecommunications systems.â€
There are no surveillance photos and no physical descriptions of the suspects, the FBI said.
A $20,000 reward is being offered by the FBI and Bank of America.
