Thiago Michel Shines In Final Fight Before USA Debut

On Saturday, World MMA Scouting Report #1 Lightweight Thiago Michel (9-2) got sent off in style, taking on Rodrigo Cavalheiro (2-1) in the main event of Brazil Fight 5 in Minas Gerais. Michel, a Belo Horizonte resident, was clearly the main attraction on the card, televised live on Combate TV, and he lived up to expectations with a highlight reel finish in the opening round. With a Bellator contract in hand, Michel is likely to make his debut for the promotion in the fall, and is considered a top candidate for the planned Season 6 lightweight tournament.

Carioca On His Way To Bellator Too

In other Scouting Report news, MMAJunkie.com reports that #5 ranked middleweight Bruno Santos has verbally agreed to terms with Bellator. The 24 year old grappler has cultivated a Fitchian eight fight, twenty eight round streak of decision victories since 2009.
