He's just doing what Jericho did when he started out as a fan favorite way back when. You need to find a way to connect with the fans. He did the same thing when he started out as a heel. He had to get the fans to connect with him on that level. Once he is sufficiently over as a face he can start dropping the kind of mic pipebombs he is known for.

Yeah apologies earlier posters, serves me right for skim reading. I actually don't think getting over will be an issue for Miz, he seems to be pretty over with the crowd at the moment. The main issue for me is his bloody terrible material thus far, his delivery has been fine but whoever is writing some of those lines (whether it be Miz or some other noob) needs a slap in the face. I'd let Miz continue how he is doing (with better material ofc) and if he struggles to get decent pops then I'd get Vickie involved, otherwise I'm not sure she's necessary, although in saying this if she's not needed elsewhere then I guess it's worthwhile.

It didn't feel like that to me. It was simple comedy and considering the location it was logical and a smart way to get them lively for the main event. That place in New Jersey is known for being a bad crowd (Dat Kid said it as well and he is a Jersey native). What better way to get the crowd going than using a guy that is known to connect with a crowd super easily?
