The WWE is now starting an international scouting hunt for a Chinese Giant. In essence, the WWE is looking to find a "Yao Ming" of wrestling. They are searching for a Chinese athlete that could be molded into a big international star in the U.S. and in China. The Chinese market is pretty much untapped, so WWE officials feel that by finding a Chinese Giant, it could create a superstar, just as the NBA has done with Ming. WWE agents will be especially watching the Beijing Olympics to see if they can find their "Giant".

I find this very stupid. From a business standpoint, it is very smart, but as a fan, it sucks. I mean, sure, we could get lucky and the giant they pick happens to be good in the ring, but WWE aren't even looking for that. I just have this creepy Khali II feeling.

It doesn't necessarily mean it will be a giant. They are just looking for someone who help them penetrate the chinese market.

It will be a giant though. I can't imagine a normal sized chinaman getting over.

p.s. Is the term Chinaman racist?

Yea it doesn't necissarily have to be a giant just someone who can get over. It is true that the Chinese market is relatively untapped by the WWE and that is somewhat of a mistake. I mean what was there like 40 million people watching the Rocket-Bucks game earlier this year in China? So if they could find the right guy it could work.

i dont know if wrestling is in the summer or winter but they should try to find him in that and kind of form him like a Kurt Angle, obviously. They could also look for some track star. Overall the wrestler probably won't be good but the ratings will definately go up.
