The American Airlines Arena, which is hosting the May 2 edition of Raw, announced on their website that The Rock will be appearing on the show that evening as he helps kick off the road to WrestleMania 28.

They are also advertising a (probably dark) main event of Randy Orton and John Cena vs. The Miz and CM Punk.

May 2 is the day after Extreme Rules so this will have an impact on the direction Cena goes after that PPV. There are two ways they can take it. If Cena wins obviously Rock will talk about Cena holding the title for a year. If he loses then we will see where he goes next and I doubt that it will be in the WWE title scene.

At first I was surprised that The Rock was back so soon but I like the decision since it must mean that Cena is going to go in a different direction and it will make things clear for the fans.

This is a good idea, as long as for most of the year they just have The Rock making one off appearences on TV, and wait until around Fall time to really kick the hype into full gear than it can sustain big time.
