I think it's funny that the majority of the Rock's movies have such horrible concepts, such as Hulk Hogan's movies always did, but that the Rock is successful with them whereas Hogan never was. It makes my day.

The Rock initially patterned his film career after Will Smith (he admitted this in an interview a fear years back).

John Cena's wrestling character, one could argue, has great similarity to 'The Fresh Prince' AKA Will Smith.
Both Cena and Smith have played (or implied) gay characters in movies.
Both Cena and Smith have played members of the military in movies and both of played detectives in movies as well.

It's funny that, in many ways, The Rock and John Cena have Will Smith to thank for the template he set in terms of crossing over.
