The Rock confirmed for Shazam!

So DC's Shazam is being adapted into a movie and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has been officially confirmed to play an enemy of Shazam's in the form of Black Adam.

Shazam is the alter ego of Billy Batson who by saying the word "Shazam" can transform into a costumed superhero with the powers of 6 figures from mythology.. Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, Mercury (S-H-A-Z-A-M).

I've not read many Shazam comics but the ones I have read are pretty decent for sure.. the one thing I'm a little worried about when it comes to the movie adaptation is the person who has been chosen to script the movie; Darren Lemke.. not a big fan of the guy, simply for the fact he wrote Shrek: Forever after and Jack The Giant Slayer and those were two terrible movies out of the 5 he's only written.

If done right the Story of Shazam and Black Adam (previously Teth-Adam until he decided he should be a reigning rules and killed the pharoah at the time) can be pretty epic, I just hope the amateur writer for the script can keep it legit and not mess it up.

I'm sure they'll update it to make it look good in the modern era, the older look of Shazam works well with like animated cartoons in the modern day but it definitely would not adapt well to a real life movie adaptation.

Has any superhero movie ever cast the villain before casting the star before? Not that I recall but nevertheless, who do you guys think should play Shazam? Personally I would cast someone with a nice range of acting but still young, basically a Channing Tatum or Chris Pratt like actor, not those in particular (Tatum busy with Gambit role and Pratt busy with Star-Lord role in the opposing Marvel Universe).

It had been teased that the Rock was going to be in this movie previously, but it was unknown what part he would play (Shazam himself or the villian, Black Adam). Looks like he has taken on the role of the lead bad guy - or anti-hero as it is referred to.
