I'll start with one that randomly popped into my head at the gym today and won't go away.

If Superman is turned invincible by the earth's yellow sun.
Does that mean that he is uncircumcised?

Why do we automatically assume Kal-El has a penis (or any sexual organ we would equate with a human male)?

Obviously, we can assume it from the movie Superman 2 (and any other comic storylines where he had a probably sexual relationship with a human woman) that he is likely built mainly like a human male, but, prior to that (you know, the comic code days) we had no reason to think about Superman and sex. So, did Siegel and Shuster think about the capacity of Superman to have sexual relationships with human women considering his alien origin?

Here's my question:
What happened in the Marvel Universe (Marvelverse?) to allow the creation/revelation of enough mutants to form several teams of superheroes and super-villains?
