Looks like the Jets have hired Hackett as their OC. Don't think it's the best move. I don't think Hackett delivered in any of the organizations he's been in. Had to be better candidates out there. Hell Byron, would have been a better choice IMO.

They needed an experienced playcaller and a veteran coach on the team. LaFleur didn't have that which hurt his coaching development. He was supposed to have that but Greg Knapp was killed right before training camp.

Also it's gonna be a similar system to what they were running which is important for the offense.

You need a veteran coach when everyone else has no experience. That has been a major problem for Salah's staff, one that he acknowledged.

And last time I checked Hacketts had success. Been to 3 conference championship games as coordinator. Sure 2 of them were with Aaron Rodgers but he also took Blake Fucking Bortles to the AFC Championship Game.

Also, he's tight with Rodgers. Wouldn't surprise me if the Jets go and get him, which is ironic since supposedly Aaron Rodgers blames Big Pharma for people hating him, and the Jets are owned by Woody Johnson (of Johnson & Johnson).

meanwhile, Jets also hired Keith Carter as the OL Coach/Run Game Coordinator. Had great success with the Tennessee Titans and had a bunch of offers and chose the Jets.

Panthers have hired Frank Reich. I'm still a little suspect on Reich. Guess we really can't know fully who chose to go the route they have with QB the years he was at Indy. I'll give him a second chance before judging fully. Indy was a playoff team one year anyways.

Happy for Frank Reich to get another opportunity. Sadly it's at a place that is still looking for a consistently good QB (basically like what he was dealing with in Indy) and to me Sam Darnold is suspect. I wouldn't be as positive if the Colts didn't show potential before Andrew Luck left suddenly. Reich gets some of the blame for things not working out with the Colts but at the same time I always felt like he ended up in a situation that was out of his control.

Yeah, the Tua situation is really scary. No one is actually sure of his future, if reports are to be believed.
