WNBA players have opted out of their current collective bargaining agreement and face the prospect of a work stoppage if they don't negotiate a new deal with the league by the end of the 2025 season.

They're probably also gonna demand changes to reffing and an off-site crew to review calls made by referees, rather than refs reviewing their own calls and having bias to uphold them.

The whole season, not just the finals, was plagued by some worst of all time refereeing, and I imagine many players feel burned by it.

I watched this interview with the head of the WNBAPA today and she goes over many of the changes they hope to make with the new CBA. Better yet, it SOUNDS like the W's decision makers share a similar vision. But of course, where there's big money there will be much debate. Hopefully they get something worked out that really helps the league take advantage of it's momentum!
