There is no way why USC let Arizona hang around so long. None. USC will get destroyed by the likes of Oregon and Washington later this year. And they will lose is a slugfest against Utah. I don't get quite why Riley is so loyal to DC Alex Grinch so much. Both bolted from OU (thankfully so) but none of his defenses have improved at all from year to year.
Riley is very lucky his offense can run on all cylinders because that USC defense necessarily has no reason to be on the field. Gave up 42 to Colorado, was down by 17 at one point to ASU (ASU is the worst team in the Pac-12, barring Stanford). It was an entertaining game to say the least, but to go to Overtimes, (let alone 1) is inexcusable for SC standards. Remember though, at the end of the day Riley only has 1 bowl in in his career. Great offensive/regular season coach, horrible post season coach. Entertaining though throughout the game.
