Welcome to the 52nd edtion of the No Smark Zone. This week, its one thing, and one thing only. Fantasy booking!!! Thats night, I got back on the creative horse and wrote up this monster of a scenario. I hope you like it.
Edge has defeated HHH and Jeff Hardy at Armageddon and is now challengerless on Smackdown.
Week 1: Edge and Vickie are in the ring. Edge claims himself to be the most dominant force on Smackdown having run through Jeff Hardy, HHH, and The Undertaker. He then says not only has he run through everyone on SD, he has beaten everyone on Raw as well, including John Cena, Batista, and Shawn Michaels. Vickie claims she is going to lobby to the WWE office to put Edge into the 2008/2009 Hall Of Fame class. Edge then says he is going to do something to spite the fans who have screwed him over for years and the wrestlers who have tried to hold him down backstage. Next week, Edge says he will officially retire as the WWE Champion, taking the title with him. Next week, will be a celebration of Edge’s Decade of Decadent Dominance over the WWE.
Week 2: The ring is decked out in Edge photos, memorabilia, and a Rated R carpet. There are tables, ladders, and chairs surrounding the ring, and a giant Rated R throne in the middle of the ring with a monitor right in front of it. We see a great highlight reel of Edge’s career, from his debut through him retaining the title at Armageddon. After the video Edge gives a very phony retirement speech. He ends it with the Lou Gehrig line “today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earthâ€. But before he can close out the ceremony, the lights go out and we see another highlight package. It alludes to a man who has matched Edge stride for stride his whole career. Taking ladder matches to a level that hasn’t been raised since him, wining world titles, and carrying a company on his back. When the package ends, his name is shown….Christian!
Christian Cage’s music hits and he makes his way out to the ring. Edge gets a wide eyed look on his face as Christian hits the ring. Christian has a huge smile on his face as he hits the turnbuckles. When he gets back down, Edge flips out demanding to know what the hell Christian is doing here. Cage tells Edge that he wanted to see this retirement up close and personal. He wanted to come out here and reminisce with Edge, about their glory days. About when they both reinvented the ladder match. How they jumpstarted the tag team division in the WWE again and how they had some of the greatest matches in WWE history. Edge stops Christian and tells him that “I was the one who carried our tag team. It wasn’t you who won those ladder matches, it was ME! And even after you retreated to the warm waters of Florida and the B company, I went on to become the greatest WWE champion of all time. What did you do Christian? You fought WWE rejects and WCW has beens.†Cage interrupts him and tells Edge that he may have taken down The Undertaker, John Cena, and Batista; but he hasn’t taken down former world champion Christian Cage. He then says “Adam, you can retire if you want, but you will retire knowing that you never…..ever….went through me to keep your WWE title. You may have taken on all the top guys that were here, but you never took on me.†Edge replies “Christian, you need to get out of MY ring, before I make the final piece of my career highlight reel, Edge Ending The Career Of Christian Cage†Christian laughs and then swings at Edge and hammers on him until Edge retreats. Christian then destroys the set as Edge and Vickie back up the ramp and SD goes off the air.
Week 3: Edge comes out with Vickie to start the show. Edge tells the crowd that he’s thought a lot about the challenge laid down by Christian last week. Edge says he doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone. He then says “I take that back, I have to prove it to the only two people that matter, my beautiful wife Vickie, and myself!†Vickie chimes in saying that Christian Cage will get a chance to face Edge if he can earn it. And to earn it, he must win the Royal Rumble, in 4 weeks. And tonight, there will be a qualifying match for the Rumble tonight. It will be a 6 man over the top rope battle royal, and the winner will get to choose his entry number into the Royal Rumble.
Christian Cage vs. Triple H vs. Vladimir Kozlov vs. Jeff Hardy vs. The Undertaker vs. MVP
Christian Cage wins
Week 4: Christian Cage starts off the show telling everyone he is going to pick number 30, is going to win the Royal Rumble and is going to beat Edge at WM. Vickie comes out and says that Christian misunderstood what she said last week. Christian WILL get to choose his number, but he will choose between numbers 1 and 2. Vickie asks him to choose and he says “surprise meâ€. Christian then informs her that he has been talking to the WWE board of directors, and since Edge has conditionally accepted his challenge, Edge must continue to defend his title and work through his contract. And tonight, the WWE BOD is making Edge defend his WWE title. Vickie tells Christian that she wasn’t informed of this, but if it is true, she cant have Christian ruining the main event, and tells him to get out of the building.
Edge vs. The Undertaker: No Holds Barred
Christian tries to interfere but ends up costing Taker the match.
Week 5: Christian comes out to host The Peep Show. He calls out The Undertaker to apologize to him. The Undertaker comes out. Christian tells Taker that he did not want to cost Taker the belt. But UT was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He tells Undertaker that he is going to be the one who dethrones Edge and he is going to get that done any way he has to, even if he has to clash with The Undertaker. Before he can go on anymore, UT strikes and throws lefts and rights at Christian. Cage tries to fight back but Taker goozles him and chokeslams him.
Vickie makes Undertaker vs. Christian Cage tonight.
Christian Cage vs. The Undertaker
Christian Cage beats Taker after Edge tries to hit Christian and Taker gets drilled with a chair.
Week 5/The Royal Rumble: Vickie Guerrero is cornered in her office by The Undertaker. He tells Vickie, she is going to give him Edge and Christian in a tag team match tonight. She cant refuse and says she will make the match.
Edge and Christian vs. The Brothers Of Destruction
Edge abandons Christian when he tries to make a hot tag and Christian receives both a Chokeslam from Kane and a Tombstone from The Undertaker.
The Rumble Match
Christian lasts from number 2 all the way until the end. He is the last man in the ring when #30 comes out. #30 is The Rated R Superstar, Edge. The two have a 10 minute match that ends with Edge trying to pull an HBK with one foot only touching, but Christian sees this and hits a dropkick through the ropes, making him the winner.
Week 6: Edge and Vickie come out and tries to goad Christian into taking his title match early, at No Way Out, like John Cena did the year before. Christian comes out and says that he isnt going to rush into anything. “I am going to make you suffer and think every day. I’m going to make you think ‘Is this it for me? Am I going to lose my title? In 7 weeks, 6 weeks, 5 weeks….’†Vickie interrupts him and says “You may be able to try and mentally hurt my husband, but I am going to physically hurt you. For the next 9 weeks, leading up to Wrestlemania, you will be in action in the most brutal matches Edge and I can think of. Now, that doesn’t have to happen if you just take your title match earlier.†Christian, of course, declines. Vickie and Edge say that’s fine. Tonight, Christian will go against Vladimir Kozlov.
Vladimir Kozlov vs. Christian Cage
Christian gets distracted by Hawkins and Ryder who get near the ring and gets defeated by Vladimir Kozlov.
Week 7: To start the show, Vickie and Edge put the whole roster in the ring. They tell them that tonight Christian will be put into a tag team match, and if ANYONE steps up to be his partner, they will face the consequences. Vickie says “There is not one of you that are bigger than me or Edge, so don’t think, Khali or Kozlov that just because you are big, you can get away with defying us.â€
Christian comes to Vickies office and she informs him he will be taking on Umaga and The Big Show in a tag team match. If he cant find a partner, it will become a handicapped match.
Christian tries to get one of the tag team champions, Carlito and Primo to be his partner. They tell him no. He then goes to The Great Khali, whose translator Runjin Singh tells him no. Finally, Cage approaches Jeff Hardy who also tells him no, but tells him why, and the meeting Vickie had with everyone and told them not to tag with him. Christian thanks Jeff and turns to leave when he runs into HHH. Trips tells him “I heard what Vickie is trying to do to you. And far be it from me to defy authority….wait a minute, I made a career of defying authority. So tonight, lets you and I stick it right back in Vickie and Edge’s face.†Christian agrees, and we have a team.
Christian Cage and HHH vs. Umaga and The Big Show
Before HHH goes it, Vickie and Edge confront him and tell him to reconsider. HHH just laughs and walks out. Christian and HHH win. After the match Edge and Vickie come out. HHH mocks them and says “what are you going to do, fire me? You’re not going to fire the cornerstone of the company. The person who carried this company on his back for 5 years.†Vickie replies and says “No HHH, I wont fire you. But since you chose to defy my edict, I have decided that as long as you are on Smackdown, you will never wrestle for another title, ever again.
Week 8: HHH walks into Vickie’s office. She tells him that maybe she was too harsh last week in her judgment about his future. She tells him he will have an opportunity at No Way Out to earn the right to wrestle for any title he wants again. At No Way Out, if he can beat Christian Cage in a steel cage match, he will be able to go after any title he wants again. HHH tells her that he doesn’t like being jerked around. He will fight Christian at the PPV, but if she tries doing this again, she will be very sorry.
Christian is walking into the arena when he is stopped by Eve Torres who informs him he will be taking on Shelton Benjamin in a non title Submission Match. Christian kind of acknowledges her and walks off.
Edge and Vickie meet with Shelton. They tell Shelton that if he takes care of Christian tonight, and cripples him, Shelton will get a shot at Edge’s WWE title.
HHH cuts a backstage promo saying he doesn’t like what he’s going to have to do at No Way Out. But he is going to beat Christian within an inch of his life because his professional life depends on his ability to go after the WWE Title.
Submission Match- Shelton Benjamin vs. Christian Cage
Shelton works over Christian Cages knee for the whole match. The match ends, however, when Christian Cage makes Benjamin submit in the Cage Crossface.
Week 9: Christian Cage calls out HHH to the ring. Christian tells Triple H “I know why youre doing what you’re doing and I don’t hold it against you.†HHH says “Well that’s very nice to know Christian, but make no mistake about it, I am not here to get YOUR adulation. I am here to be the best, I am here to be WWE Champion. And if that means I have to go through you in a steel cage match this Sunday, then I guess were having a steel cage match this Sunday. And don’t get me wrong, I know how good you are. I know you revolutionized the ladder match with The Hardys and Edge. I know you were a muilti time Intercontinental Champion. But don’t think just because you went down South and beat up on a bunch of fat has beens and a bunch of midget never will be’s doesn’t mean that you’re just going to steamroll over The Game. Don’t forget what I’ve done in this business Christian, I’ve taken down more world champions than you can count. I am the measuring stick in this business. So come Sunday, you better be ready for the fight of your life.â€
Christian Cage vs. The Big Show w/ Special Guest Referee: Edge
The match ends with Christian hitting an Unprettier on Show but Edge refusing to count. He and Christian get into it. As they do, Show gets a chair and drills Christian with it and then chokeslams him on it. The assault continues after TBS pins Christian. Edge lines up Christian for a One Man Con-chair-to until HHH makes the save.
Week 9/No Way Out: Christian Cage vs. HHH w/ Special Guest Referee: Edge
Christian wins after he and HHH throw the ref through the door and he is taken to the back. Christian hits an Unprettier and a frogsplash from the top of the cage to get the pin when a second ref gets involved.
Week 10: Christian comes out all pissed off. He calls out Edge and Vickie. “What are you going to do to me this week? An arm wrestling contest with The Great Khali? A Boxing Match with The Big Show? Oh, I know, a 1 on 20 handicapped match with me taking on the whole roster. Edge comes out and says that Christian has them pegged wrong. “We want to give you a chance to show off just how good you are. Take tonight for example, tonight you will be competing in a Championship Gauntlet Match. Tonight, Christian Cage will take on every champion on SD. I, of course, will not be getting involved because these losers here in Texas don’t deserve to see me wrestle. But tonight, you get the chance to do what you claimed the WWE held you back from buddy, you get to take on champions.â€
Championship Gauntlet Match
Christian first wrestles Primo Colon and then his brother Carlito. He dispatches of them in 10 minutes or so. Then MVPs music hits and he comes out. He tells everyone that he is his own title. He says he is so good, beating him is like beating a world champion. Cage squeaks by him in another 10 minutes. Shelton Benjamin is the final one out of the shoot. Christian gets him with a roll up and is declared the winner. Until Vickie announces Edge as Christians last opponent. Cage readies for Edge but the Rated R Superstar comes from the crowd and spears Christian from behind and gets the win.
Week 11: Edge comes out and says he has had a chage of heart. He believes that Christian truly is one of the greatest of all time. He then shows footage of Christian from all of the ladder/tlc matches. And tonight, he is going to give Christian the opportunity to reach that greatness again. Tonight, he will take on Matt Hardy in a TLC match for the ECW Championship.
Chrisitan runs into Matt and says that he didnt want anyone else getting involved. Matt says he understands, but tonight, they can stick it to Edge.
TLC Match
The two get out there. They both climb the ladder, get to the belt, and pull it down at the same time. Matt and Christian get on the mic and say they arent going to let Edge put them through a meat grinder and injure Christian before Wrestlemania. Edge comes out with Hawkins, Ryder, and Chavo; livid that they screwed him over. He says "fine, you want to play games, we'll ply a game. Its called a 2 on 4 handicapped match.
2 on 4 Handicapped Match
Christian gets the win with an Unprettier on Ryder. But after he gets the win, Edge attacks with a chair and finishes the night with a one man Con-Chair-To.
Week 12: Vickie says due to what happened last week, Christian is not able to be on SD tonight, and he may not make it to Wrestlemania this Sunday. But tonight, Edge will be in action. He will be facing Matt Hardy to finish off the punishment he started last week.
Edge vs. Matt Hardy
Edge wins but beats down Matt with a chair. Christian hits the ring from the crowd and hits an inverted DDT on Edge. Christian then goes out and gets a ladder from under the ring. He sets it up on the outside and does a frog splash into the ring but Edge pulls the chair over him, making Christian crash into the steel chair. Edge goes for the one man Con Chair To again but this time Chrisitan move out of the way. Edge retreats.
Wrestlemania- TLC Match for the WWE Title
Edge tries to be slick and pull some heelish moves but Christian knows him better than anyone else and is able to avoid them. Edge tries to outwrestle Christian, be he is countered at every turn. Finally, Edge just pokes Christian in the eye to take over. The bigger spots in the match include Edge slide kicking a chair in Christians face a la RVD, Christian going for a frog splash from the ladder and getting speared, Edge missing a splash from the ladder and going through a table, and Christian hitting a spear to a hanging Edge, a la WM 17. Christian wins when Edge takes a bump off of a ladder, through a table, to the outside.

Week 9/No Way Out: Christian Cage vs. HHH w/ Special Guest Referee: Edge
Christian wins after he and HHH throw the ref through the door and he is taken to the back. Christian hits an Unprettier and a frogsplash from the top of the cage to get the pin when a second ref gets involved.
Week 10: Christian comes out all pissed off. He calls out Edge and Vickie. “What are you going to do to me this week? An arm wrestling contest with The Great Khali? A Boxing Match with The Big Show? Oh, I know, a 1 on 20 handicapped match with me taking on the whole roster. Edge comes out and says that Christian has them pegged wrong. “We want to give you a chance to show off just how good you are. Take tonight for example, tonight you will be competing in a Championship Gauntlet Match. Tonight, Christian Cage will take on every champion on SD. I, of course, will not be getting involved because these losers here in Texas don’t deserve to see me wrestle. But tonight, you get the chance to do what you claimed the WWE held you back from buddy, you get to take on champions.â€
Championship Gauntlet Match
Christian first wrestles Primo Colon and then his brother Carlito. He dispatches of them in 10 minutes or so. Then MVPs music hits and he comes out. He tells everyone that he is his own title. He says he is so good, beating him is like beating a world champion. Cage squeaks by him in another 10 minutes. Shelton Benjamin is the final one out of the shoot. Christian gets him with a roll up and is declared the winner. Until Vickie announces Edge as Christians last opponent. Cage readies for Edge but the Rated R Superstar comes from the crowd and spears Christian from behind and gets the win.
Week 11: Edge comes out and says he has had a chage of heart. He believes that Christian truly is one of the greatest of all time. He then shows footage of Christian from all of the ladder/tlc matches. And tonight, he is going to give Christian the opportunity to reach that greatness again. Tonight, he will take on Matt Hardy in a TLC match for the ECW Championship.
Chrisitan runs into Matt and says that he didnt want anyone else getting involved. Matt says he understands, but tonight, they can stick it to Edge.
TLC Match
The two get out there. They both climb the ladder, get to the belt, and pull it down at the same time. Matt and Christian get on the mic and say they arent going to let Edge put them through a meat grinder and injure Christian before Wrestlemania. Edge comes out with Hawkins, Ryder, and Chavo; livid that they screwed him over. He says "fine, you want to play games, we'll ply a game. Its called a 2 on 4 handicapped match.
2 on 4 Handicapped Match
Christian gets the win with an Unprettier on Ryder. But after he gets the win, Edge attacks with a chair and finishes the night with a one man Con-Chair-To.
Week 12: Vickie says due to what happened last week, Christian is not able to be on SD tonight, and he may not make it to Wrestlemania this Sunday. But tonight, Edge will be in action. He will be facing Matt Hardy to finish off the punishment he started last week.
Edge vs. Matt Hardy
Edge wins but beats down Matt with a chair. Christian hits the ring from the crowd and hits an inverted DDT on Edge. Christian then goes out and gets a ladder from under the ring. He sets it up on the outside and does a frog splash into the ring but Edge pulls the chair over him, making Christian crash into the steel chair. Edge goes for the one man Con Chair To again but this time Chrisitan move out of the way. Edge retreats.
Wrestlemania- TLC Match for the WWE Title
Edge tries to be slick and pull some heelish moves but Christian knows him better than anyone else and is able to avoid them. Edge tries to outwrestle Christian, be he is countered at every turn. Finally, Edge just pokes Christian in the eye to take over. The bigger spots in the match include Edge slide kicking a chair in Christians face a la RVD, Christian going for a frog splash from the ladder and getting speared, Edge missing a splash from the ladder and going through a table, and Christian hitting a spear to a hanging Edge, a la WM 17. Christian wins when Edge takes a bump off of a ladder, through a table, to the outside.
PHEW! Holy shit. That took a long time to do, so I hope you all enjoyed it. Next week, I will be awarding the No Smark Zone Awards for 2008. SEE YA THEN!!
