Welcome to the 15th Edition of The No Smark Zone. This week we get back on the Fact Or Fiction horse. This week on our panel we have the closest thing to a rockstar on the IWF MattHardyV1. We also have the artist formerly known as Lethal Weapon, Flames Of Fury. PeepShow makes his first Fact or Fiction appearance today. Rated RJC is in our fourth spot and rounding out the panel is the IWFs man with the identity crisis, kinda like The Mountie, Monkeystyles. Think it’s a coincidence that they are both from Canada? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm….
Before Edge was taken out due to injury, he was the best active heel the WWE had since HHH.
V1: Fact...Edge, in that point of his career, was more over as a heel than he has ever been. Even when he had to give up the title the people were booing and chanting you suck. Although he definitely wasn’t at the level Triple H was, he was definitely the best since.
Munk: Fact.
Edge was garnering heel heat like no other before his injury. There's really not much more to say.
PeepShow: Fact I dont see how anyone can argue wiht that not being a fact. Edge has been the best heel the past 2 1/2 years. Period. Nobody even has come close, with the exception of maybe Randy Orton these past few months.
Rated RJC: FACT but just because there really hasn't been anyone else since HHH. You had King Booker, Umaga, Orton (whom wasn't in the main event scene really) all of which aren't as strong of heels as Edge. I think when Edge and HHH are back and by that time they'll both be the monster heels they should be both shows will be good because of the fact there will be 2 huge driving forces causing fans to "hate" them. Edge most likely is the next HHH but he won't be as good as him, i dont see the sadistic side of Edge unless there's a ladder around. HHH just has that edge (no pun) whereas Edge is more of a comedic heel.
FOF: Fact. When you look at the top heels in the WWE it comes down to three guys being the top heels in the WWE. That would be Randy Orton, Ken Kennedy and Edge. Looking at it this way, Edge definitely was the top heel, Kennedy is going there but isn’t there yet because he needs that one defining moment when he just clicks it all together, and Orton doesn’t have that certain heel tactics to just grab me and make me want to hate the guy. Edge on the other hand would make me want to hate him if I was just the average fan. His tactics of getting heat and ripping down the audience are just flawless. Just look at the ratings of the WWE, back in 2006 the ratings were higher when Edge was the champion than Cena. Edge has the best ways of getting heat and the ways of getting over as a heel realistically as a “bad guy”
John Cena’s good to great matches with the more inexperienced stars the likes of Umaga, Bobby Lashley, and The Great Khali show that John Cena is no longer someone who has to be “carried” to have a good match.
V1: Fact....Cena has definatly had his best wrestling year this year,I mean we rarley hear that "5 Moves" comment any more....Cena has improved greatly and has learned how to carry good, even great matches...As long as WWE get that belt off of Cena A.S.A.P he will be O.K....WWE wonders why their ratings are down, well look at the crap we see every week on Raw...for nearly 2 years its been all Cena overcoming the odds...The guy dosent need these massive wins to get over anymore...watch the ratings skyrocket when Cena loses...
Munk:Fact.
It pains me to say it because I still don't like him, but Cena hasn't needed to be carried for a good while now. I'm not yet convinced that he alone can carry someone to a truly good match, but he sure as hell can hold up his own end of things.
PeepShow: Fiction While John Cena has added a few more moves to his arsenal, he still has a lot of work to be done before you can say he doesnt have to carry matches anymore. Whenever I see one of his matches, he just does the same shit, thats the only reason I dont see Cena like some of the others do.
Rated RJC: FACT I never thought Cena had to be carried, he's not that bad at what he does. 5 moves of doom, so what? Shawn Michaels does a flying elbow, nip up, punch, punch, inverted atomic drop, punch, punch, scoop slam, elbow drop from top rope, tune up the band, in EVERY one of his matches, people dont criticise him. Cena haters just hate to be cool and most people follow them and dont really watch his matches.
FOF: Fiction. Just because he can work matches with some of the younger talent that has a little bit of inexperience and/or can't wrestle doesn't mean that he doesn't need to be carried anymore. He can have great matches but he still needs to be carried by guys like HHH and HBK. I didn't think his match with Lashley and Khali were so great either. I still think that Cena has a lot to learn though in the ring
With the injury of World Heavyweight Champion Edge, the WWE made the best decision possible by putting the title on the Great Khali as he is credible on the fact that he is a true monster.
V1: Fiction.....Although I probably seem like one of the "Khali sucks, he is the last person who should of got it.." I'm not. When I really think about it, Khali was a great choice but only because whoever beats him, will have accomplished a huge feat. I’m guessing it will be Batista or Undertaker...IMO If you wanted a heel as champ:1.Mark Henry, he can wrestle better and cut better promos than Khali, he has also paid his dues and deserved it. or 2.Finlay...another guy who has paid his dues, but also, can have an excellent wrestling match with almost anyone...he would of been a very good Champ...Smackdown just like Raws Ratings have been declining and once Khali loses that belt, they will slowly climb up again...
Munk:Fact.
I've said it many times now, and its probably getting a bit repetitive. Provided that they don't go the Batista route with the title whoever goes over Khali is going to look golden.
PeepShow: Fiction I meen just picture this. If I was a hardcore wrestling fan, and hadnt tuned into SD for about a month, and then flipped back to this Friday, what would you see. I mean you think, ok, well if Edge got beat, I wonder by who. Could it be Hardy maybe agetting revenge on Edge from a couple of years ago? Nope. Or maybe even Kennedy comes back and beats Edge to get revenge for the MITB incident. Nope. But wait, whos is the champ? KHALI???!!!!
Hahahhahahahahahahahaahahhahahhahahahahahahahhahahahaahahahahhahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahaahahaahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
The guy from The Longest Yard in SD Champion. A guy with absoutly no fan base, no mic skill, no charisma, and no moves but like 2.
Anyway, you get the point there.
Rated RJC: FACT...when you put it like that, everyone says Lashley and Lesnar got the title too early be it mic skills or whatever but Khali botches everything, he cant work a good match, and it pains me to see the title triple h tried to bring so much credibility to going downhill. He's a monster sure but so are Batista (over with the fans), Kane (over with the fans, and even Mark Henry is over. They had some great choices but imo blew it with Khali.
FOF: Fact. I am not going to take long on this but if you want to know then read my last column and the positives I said about Khali being WHC. I know this was a cheap plug but I didn’t want to copy and paste
With Edge’s return to be slated sometime around December or January, Edge is in the top 2, if not a lock, to win the Royal Rumble.
V1: Fiction....I honestly can’t see Edge returning to the WHC scene right away, When you look at it, he got very lucky. If not for the Undertaker and Kennedy getting injured, Edge would be buried on Raw right now...Edge wont come back and Right away win a spot at Wrestlemania...He is definitely not Main Eventing Wrestlemaina this year, I can see Undertaker vs. Edge maybe, just not Edge in the Main Event.....My predicted Rumble winners would be. MVP, Kennedy, Matt Hardy, John Cena...
Munk:Fiction.
John Cena is winning the Royal Rumble this year. Barring any injuries there is no ifs, ands or buts about it.
PeepShow: Fact I agree that Edge will be # 2 in the RR. I think it will come down to him and Kennedy, with Kennedy ultimately winning it.
Rated RJC: FICTION i dont see him as top 5, with rumors of Cena losing the title and then possibly not getting it back for a while you have to think Cena's winning the rumble for the first time in his career. Then the pushes of Orton and Kennedy could give them their first rumble win. (Is this Kennedy's first Rumble, i believe it is so maybe he can win on his first try) HHH or HBK could still win it, imo it's too close to tell what's going to happen. Believe it or not we could see a CM Punk or Elijah Burke win the rumble IF, and thats a big if, Vince sees what he has and tries to push some of the younger talent.
FOF: Fiction. Sorry Edge but I don’t see you going against the champion at Wrestlemaina next year. I’m sorry but I feel that Kennedy is going to win the rumble and CM Punk will be one of the top locks for the final 4 or final 2 if he doesn’t have a major title by then. I also think that guys like HHH and HBK will be there if they are not injured. I think that guys like Edge with a lot of talent are going to fall short on the pecking order for winning the rumble because HHH doesn’t like him and young guys like CM Punk and Mr. Kennedy can get a good push from the Rumble.
With his new gimmick, John Morrison is slowly showing the WWE and the fans that he has what it takes to become a main event player sometime down the road.
V1: 100% Fact...Johnny Nitro was a joke...John Morrison is the real deal...His promos seem to have magically improved greatly, its almost crazy how one small change has made everyone take him seriously ....Morrison is no longer a joke and he is the best World champ on the Roster imo...Morrison will be a huge star in the WWE....he is the future, This pleases me because Nitro was on the verge of being a Heat Jobber for a while, but this helped him greatly...This is probably the only good thing that came out of the Benoit Shit...
Munk:Fact and Fiction.
The fact part is obviously Morrison has been showing us some good things lately and the fact that he cut the best promo of his career on the night of the name change is definetly a good omen for his future.
The fiction part however is, as much as I like the gimmick, I don't think that he needed the gimmick change to get any further over.
PeepShow: Fact I think the statement is right on target. His mick skills are slowing growin, as well as his in-ring ability. Its just a matter of time before he is a top heel in the WWE. O wait, he already is IMO.

Rated RJC: FACT Yes i am loving this new gimmick and his mic skills are improving greatly, i'm loving seeing this kid we saw on tough enough succeed and become ECW World Champion. Morrison is being blessed right now, he is on a show will loads of young unfurnished talent that he can learn from some people like Punk and Cor Van but he can also be a huge success. ECW has an opportunity to change wwe forever if they keep impressing, i am the biggest fan of this new superstar movement the young-smaller stars that are only like 220-240 pounds. You got guys from ECW like Punk, Burke, Morrison, Striker. Guys on Raw like Cena, Orton, Kennedy, Carlito, Jeff Hardy, Marella. Then on SD with Matt Hardy, MVP, Masters, Helms, Doane. Plus their "monsters" are really only Lashley and Cor Van.
FOF: Fiction. I still doubt a little bit about John Morrison but in my mind he flew up my power rankings the first time I saw him cut that promo at the end of ECW a short while ago. I think the gimmick is good and it will carry him a lot but I just don’t have the evidence in my mind that he is going to be a main event player down the road in the future. Check back with me when I have a little more time to access the gimmick and him and I will probably say fact to that question.
That’s it for this week. Before I go I would like to introduce a new feature. Every week I will be leaving you with some words of wisdom from a WWE/F superstar. If you’d like to submit a quote, PM it to me and if I like it, I will use it here! This week we get a quote from the best mic worker in the history of the WWE, Rowdy Roddy Piper….
