Ladies and gents, we all know that WWE has shortened some names in the past. Big E lost his Langston, Cesaro was Antonio-less, Rusev is without an Alexander, and more recently now we only have "Andrade" and Heavy Machinery is now just Ottis and Tucker. This has been to mixed success as while Rusev on its own works and Big E and Cesaro are okay... but ideas such as making Andrade "Cien" Almas just "Andrade" have seemed very annoying. But we have our latest victim in this spree and one I am completely annoyed at.

Mustafa Ali has became just... Ali. So, what happens if WWE signs Allie? Do we have Ali vs Allie?

I know some people criticize him for not being "charismatic," but he's been built up decently as of late and has been getting more support. Mustafa Ali has been his name for several years in and out of WWE but now it's just... Ali. You tell someone that, they won't know if you're talking about Muhamad Ali or someone named Allie. Imagine if during the beginning of his push if "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was renamed to just "Austin" or "Steve?" There are some single word names that work like Edge, Batista, Vader, Kane, etc, but just a first name or last name doesn't work most the time. (Why do you think IWT died? BOOM ROSTED! jk... Nova Taylor was originally just "Nova" so yeah...)

So, what do you think of "Ali's" new name? Are you tired of WWE shortening names? Do you think they should stop all together, or at least tone it down?

So, what do you think of "Ali's" new name? It is fine because I doubt many people called him Mustafa

Are you tired of WWE shortening names? Yes and No. Yes, because why give them a full name if you aren't going to use it, but also No because I doubt many people called certain wrestlers their whole names like Big E or Cesaro. I mean there are people today who call Stone Cold Steve Austin just Steve Austin, and as far as Andrade dropping "Cien" Almas I am fine with as Cien means 100 and makes the name some dumb though they could have kept the Almas part

Do you think they should stop all together, or at least tone it down? Stop introducing wrestlers with full names if all you are going to do id shorten them.

When I see or hear "Ali" I think of Muhammad Ali. So does Google. Well done WWE.

Some of the name changes have been really good.
Without the first name, you seem more superhuman.
Cesaro is much better without Antonio. Big E does kinda work better without the goofy ass Langston name.
Neville to me sounds like a magician's name.
And sure, in hindsight the names get better as we get used to them...but this one just seems so super terrible.
