The Miz and Alex Riley : did they mishandle the break up?

Was it always going to be this way because of Riley being so poor in ring? Could they have waited ? Or handled it completely differently, IE Miz going face? How would you have done it?

I think Riley going face was the good move, Miz wasn't (and still isn't) ready for it yet in my opinion. If I remember rightly they split after Miz' reign right? So it was probably the right time else they would have ended up as a useless tag-team or in the mid-card, his place in the main-event was finished in that period after being in it for like 6 months.

What they done wrong was have Miz job twice in a row, then leave Riley do nothing after. Riley was really over thanks to The Miz, so Riley should have been instantly put into the mid-card title challenge.
