Dark Matches
Singles: Charlie Haas defeated Eddie Edwards
Triple Threat: Delirious defeated Erik Stevens & Evan Bourne
The two matches the opened ROH 1, but didn't actually broadcast live were both average with no one involved majorly standing out over anyone else. One thing that must be noted though though, that after Haas claimed his victory it was quite clear that he was itching to cut a promo or something to that description but was refused a microphone by the ring-side crew clearly in an attempt not not have any of the dark matches over-run into the main card.
Jerry Lynn/Frankie Kazarian Interaction
After all the general spiel had been addressed to the fans by Jim Cornette, the camera had cut backstage to find a true legend in the sport Jerry Lynn coming face to face with Frankie Kazarian. Something which got a massive amount of interest from all onlooking fans. With what people mind have expected to be an amicable encounter between the old and the new, turned out to be something very different. As Kazarian offered out a hand clearly in a sign of respect, Lynn turned down Kazarian on the reason that he had no respect for the man after he had worked under the Suicide “gimmick†as Kazarian questioned the reason behind this, he was simply pushed out the way by Lynn who clearly had no interest in spender anytime with Kaz.
Shannon Moore Scoop
Before his match up with Kenny Omega, Shannon Moore found himself interviewed behind the curtains by none other than Kyle Durden. From what Moore said, it was more than clear that he was full of confidence and believed he was full capable of leaving tonight with a victory making a special point as usual the he was representing all of his freaks.
Singles: Shannon Moore vs. Kenny Omega
For an opening contest; it was more than clear that both workers had potential although seemingly Omega seemed more willing to push himself and bring that little bit extra to the table which included a well timed Leapfrog Bulldog which saw Moore receive whiplash as his neck struck the top rope in the melee of the unexpected move. Moore clearly thought he had the match wrapped up at one point, but he was surely mistaken as Omega connected with Croyt's Wrath to wrap up the match and claim victory. Afterwards both men shook hands, before Omega continued to celebrate his victory much to the fans delight.
Winner: Kenny Omega
Super Cookie Bros?
Player Uno and Player Dos continued to be one of the most bizarre tag team around, as with neither man aware they were being filmed had an argument with jaffa cakes or Maryland cookies were the better biscuit. When neither could decide they continue to throw the tasty treats at each other until their “food fight†was broken up Necro Butcher who scared both men off by just looking at them.
Tornado Tag : Beer Money vs. Super Smash Bros
It wouldn't be a surprise in saying that Beer Money totally dominated; not surprising considering arguably Storm and Roode as a duo are the best tag-team current in pro-wrestling something which clearly the mainstream clearly a fact that the likes of the WWE hasn't quite realized yet. The three time world tag-team champions ended the match relatively quickly with the DWI, before proceeding to celebrate with a little “Beer Party†and got a number of female fans to join them in the ring; a throw back to the Nature Boy almost.
Winners: Beer Money
5 Way Dance: Colt Cabana vs. Eric Young vs. Prince Devitt vs. Lance Cade vs. Jay Lethal
With five men involved in just one match, and only the possibility of one winner this match was not only gripping but lasted for quite a while something which the fans didn't seem to tire from and in fact seemed to be wanting more. Something which ROH management will surely take into account in the coming weeks? With all five men offering something, all involved could have left with the victory. However it Prince Devitt, the man who has been making a name for himself with New Japan Pro Wrestling that claimed victory after taking out Eric Young with a Bloody Sunday! It most be noted, that Colt Cabana almost broke up the pin count, but the referee count seemed to be slightly to quick for his reach.
Winner: Prince Devitt
Who The Fuck Is Captain Britain?
The debut of an unknown personality took place just prior to penultimate match of the night as on individual wearing a mask with the Union Jack printed on it and red cape came forward to the camera claiming to be “Captain Britainâ€. The strange individual didn't say much, but it was quite clear that everyone that tuned in was quite intrigued as to who this individual was.
Two Out Of Three Falls : Jerry Lynn vs. Steve Corino
With two true legends competing this match had generated a lot of interest when it had been put on the match card, and many people had argued that this match in many ways should have been the main event of the night. Despite given this honor, neither man was going to disappoint. The action was back and forth, with both men truly pushing each other to their limits. The looks that both men were giving each other, could lead to an assumption that their was actually some serious hate between both men and that they weren't just fighting for the sake of good competition. It was Corino however that claimed the win; connecting with the Old School Kick! Clearly though Corino had another agenda as after winning he invited Frankie Kazarian to the ring, making the point that Kaz was very much the future of the wrestling industry and someone he would very much like to work with and improve if he would let him. Not surprisingly, Kazarian excepted this. Throughout, Jerry Lynn watched on clearly not enjoying seeing Kazarian standing alongside Corino. Tension building?
Winner: Steve Corino
ROH 2 Announcement
Jim Cornette made an announcement concerning the next scheduled Ring Of Honor show; revealing that one of the high matches on the card would be match between Davey Richards & Necro Butcher. As well as promising that a championship would be on the line in next week's main event.
MAIN EVENT: Matt Morgan vs. Austin Aries (Special Referee: Tyler Black)
ROH 1: REVAMP had a main event that no one is going to forget anytime soon, unless of course they enjoying tuning in and watching boring Friday Night Smackdown every week. Matt Morgan brought a degree of power and sheer determination to get ahead, whilst Aries brought agility and a layer of confidence that he has carried within himself for years and for the large part of the match Black seemed to have the role of nothing more than a referee keeping to himself and doing the role to the level that was expected of him. It looked like Aries had the match finished though as he seemed to wipe out Morgan with a Brainbuster. However, when it came to the count Black refused to bring his hand down for the third count. However, when Aries went to dispute this with Black he was knocked off his feet as Black struck Aries with a knuckleduster right to temple, before dragging Matt Morgan over Aries and making it a quick count. With both Morgan and Aries knocked out, the show ended with Black taking to the microphone and making a statement that if anyone intended to take the ROH World Title off him, then they were going to really step up if they thought they were going to out maneuver him.
Winner: Matt Morgan
