Kurt Angle stated on Twitter that he will be participating in the United States Olympic wrestling trials that will be held in Iowa City, Iowa this April to determine the team that will go to London, England for the 2012 Olympics.

“I’m Already Qualified for final Olympic trials In June. But I Will Official Enter Olympic trial Qualifier Tourney in April in Iowa! I’m Ready,” he wrote.

Angle revealed his Olympic hopes this past June. He told The Sun, “I’ve set my sights on this. There are certain goals I had in my life and I’ve done them. I won an Olympic gold medal, but last time I did it I didn’t really enjoy it. I didn’t have fun. It was more of a job and there was a lot of pressure on me. This time I’m going to soak it in, enjoy everything I do from the training to going to London and making the Olympic team, enjoying it and remembering the Olympics instead of putting it out of my mind.”

I don't think so, i haven't heard anything on it kind of assumed he came to reality on that one.

Still can't see him making the team. There will be so many other wrestlers out there that have been training for a decade to get this spot and he has only been training part time the last year to get on the team.

I am sure that Angle hasnt lost THAT much since 1996. Knowing Angle, he has probably always had an Olympic style traingin.

He has added 15 years and has had many, many serious injuries in that time. I just think that his body won't be up to it against younger, fitter wrestlers who have been training full time for years.

Ill be interested to see what he does. If anything, maybe he might take being rejected as a way to see his time is now done.

It will be interesting to see what he says if is fails in his quest. I found it slightly odd that he didn't do this full time and take some time off from TNA in order to put as much time as possible in training to ensure he has the best chance of making the team.

I am assuming that he is subbing his TNA training with Olympic training, which is better, IMO.

Or he is so arrogant that he thinks he can do both.
