The Honky Tonk Man predicted during an interview last week with Monday Night Mayhem that the late Randy Savage will receive his long overdue enshrinement into the WWE Hall of Fame next year.
“I think ‘Macho Man’ (Randy Savage), of course will be the headliner,” the former WWE Superstar said. “The sad thing is that he’s not going to be there to give his own speech.”
The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that prior to his death, Savage said on ‘several occasions’ that if he was asked to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he would be happy to accept the honor, but WWE head Vince McMahon would not allow his enshrinement. Lanny Poffo, however, revealed in an interview with the Ottawa Sun what his brother’s true wishes were.
“He said if the Hall of Fame ever comes calling, that it would be all three of us (Randy Savage, Lanny Poffo and father Angelo Poffo) or nothing,” Poffo said.
