The Greatest All-Rounder

Who, in your opinion is the greatest all-rounder in WWE/WWF history?
That one guy who is excellent on the mic, can get the crowd going, can play the heel or face, and is an awesome technical wrestler.
My choice is obvious to me, but maybe not to others, and that man is..

Kurt Angle

I don't need to reference anything to back up his technical ability, we all know he's one of the greatest in that regard.
He was a perfect heel during his first few months after his debut, and during his feud with HHH regarding Stephanie.
Obviously he is great on the mic, one the best to date actually.
Who's your pick?

Eddie, Jericho and Angle are all great picks. The closest I'd come in today's WWE is probably D-Bry but he has also been called the Kurt Angle of the current WWE.

Jericho is good too. I really enjoyed watching him as the IC champion between 2000-2003.
Eddie I can't comment on, I only remember him with the Radicalz. He didn't compete properly in the singles until after I stopped watching.

I pick Steve Austin

If you didn't catch 1996, Youtube him because he was a very good heel... so good in fact he could never be booed again apparently


For honorable mention, I'd go Mr. Perfect but he was injured far too much for me to make a true case for him

I shy away from Austin for this reason... when he was at his best in the ring, he was still "Stunning Steve Austin" and "The Ringmaster"

by the time he was SCSA he had suffered a broken neck and wasn't the same in ring technician that he was before. If you combine Steve's wrestling ability from the early 90s with his run in the WWE in the late 90s and you have the potential GOAT. But things didn't align themselves like that

I would have to go with HBK, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho since they all were great heels and faces. They knew how to do moves that people thought they couldn't do.

He broke his neck in August 97, but prior to (96-97) that his matches with Bret were stellar.

I agree, however, his very best in ring work may have been pre- 'E'


Austin is still my horse in this race. I'll take a look-see at his WCW work and re-evaluate that

Probably go with Chris Jericho.
Second can be Kurt Angle and third maybe HHH(but his in-ring work is like above average.)

I might actually have to go with The Rock. At least he's my personal favorite.

His charisma and mic work can't be argued. But he is a much better wrestler than people give him credit for. He has had good/great matches with almost everyone, from Austin, Triple H, Angle, Eddie, Benoit, Brock, Jericho, RVD, Booker T., etc. His match with Cena sucked, but that's because Rock had been away for so long and also probably wanted to take extra care not to injure himself.

He's not the best from a technical level, but definitely above average, and a good enough wrestler (the best out of all the top names - Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena, etc.) that when you combine that with his charisma and (being objective) the fact that he was one of the biggest superstars ever for a reason, he's about the closest you can get to an almost perfect total package.

Chris Jericho has my vote, he is a beast in ring, can play a heel or face great, has dedication, has the look, and even has the mic skills. He is a complete package, probally the best wrestler you can have in your company today.

Jericho, Angle, Eddie and HBK are the ones that come up. Eddie's heel run was fantastic.
