Undertaker v Cena. The ultimate dream match. This is a big match. Sure, a match that should of happened a few years ago. But never the less a big match regardless. If this match does happen its gonna put butts in seats. That's the problem with dream matches. WWE don't even have to try to hype this match up. That means they can be lazy. Personally I would prefer if this match was enriched with story and intrigue other then just the bases that its a "dream match". So what story would you have for this feud? here is mine.
Now I have a lot of questions running through my head. Like, Why would Undertaker come out of retirement? Why would he target John Cena? Why would Cena want to face Taker? And who really is Byron Saxton? But first, lets look at were both wrestlers are at the moment.
Its Wrestlemania season, so naturally the deadman will come out and play. However this year is different. As far as im concerned The Undertaker retired after losing to Reigns last year at Mania (Sorry for brining that up). The Undertakers spirit can finally rest in peace. Meanwhile John Cena has hes sight set on the main event of Wrestlemania, in order to beat Ric Flairs record. That's a strong motive and is probably why Cena is acting like a bit of prick lately. That is the last achievement for Cena to accomplish. Once he beats the record there is nothing else he needs to do. So how do we get to this dream match?
Is it me or does Cena feel like he is a bit pissed off? It almost feels like Cena doesn't want to be there. The last good thing that Cena has done is hes feud with AJ imo. After years of boos and "Cena sucks" it finally feels that the boos have finally got to him. There is darkness inside Cena and it wants to be let loose. This is were Undertaker comes in. Taker has been disturbed and has awaken from hes deathbed. Undertaker has one last grave to fill and it has Cenas name on the gravestone.
Essentially, this feud is more about Cena then it is about Taker. Undertaker represents the darkness inside John Cena (aka the heel turn). This darkness haunts Cena week after week until he cant take it anymore. For Cena to overcome hes inner demons he has to seek the light. Cena's believes and conduct has been disorientated. He needs to return to "Hustle Loyalty and Respect" and "Never Give Up" in order to avoid he's grave stone. Basically Cena is fighting he's heel turn.
So, how does this go down? It kicks off at the Elimination Chamber. Cena fires out of hes pod with all guns blazing. As the match goes on he eliminates Elias and he starts to dominate the field. Until the lights go off wIth a spotlight on Cena. Then the titantron displays a gravestone that says "Here Lays The Broken Man Who Cannot Be Fixed". The camera then travels down to discover a John Cena t-shirt in the grave that says "Never Give Up". Cena looks very confused, until the lights come back on and its revealed The Undertaker is standing behind him. Chokeslam proceeding into a Tombstone Piledriver. Undertaker disappears for Finn Balor to take the easy pin (That's one for all the people who think Cena buried Finn).
The next night on Raw, Cena is pissed. He's big chance at beating the record is gone. Cena calls out the Deadman, but all he gets is a song from Elias. Later on the show, Cena beats the shit out of Elias. By beat the shit I mean beat the shit. Cena destroys Elias. Anger is taken over. Cena continues to act aggressively and continues to call out the Undertaker. But the Undertaker never comes out. Cena is getting frustrated and starts to get mocked by other wrestlers and especially the crowd. Soon enough he starts to play along with the joke and debuts a new "John Cena Sucks" shirt that replaces the "Never Give Up" shirt. Cena is acting more like a heel as weeks go by. Not fully heel, just little things like mocking/teasing the crowd and savagely beating up Curt Hawkins (Sorry Curt).
Cena then shows up on Smackdown. The reason for this is that Cena has given up on calling out the Undertaker and feels that he has chance of beating the record over on Smackdown. As a result Shane books John in a match with Kevin Owens. If Cena wins then he takes both Sami and KO's spot at Fastlane. Cena is looking like he is gonna win the match, however the lights go off again were the titantron shows four gravestones. Each Gravestone has a legend eg. Foley, Austin, HBK and HHH. The screen then shows a fifth gravestone that is labelled "John Cena". This distracts Cena for KO to get the roll up victory. Taker screws Cena again.
Cena has promo insulting Taker. The usual John Cena savage one liners, mocking Takers age and loss to Roman last year (again sorry). Cena announces that he will attempt to resurrect Undertaker at Fastlane. Fastlane comes around and Cena and Taker finally come face to face. They stand facing each other in front of the big Wrestlemania sign. Taker run hes hand across hes throat and Cena comesback with the U Cant C Me taunt. OMG its official.
Over the next few weeks Cena is haunted by Undertaker. Some real spooky shit. Cena keeps on zoning out and getting blackouts. Nikki Bella reveals that Johnny boy is getting nightmares and refuses to got to bed (refuses to sleep with a Bella...ikr). Cena is acting very strange and Kurt Angle is concerned for hes mental health and sends him home. cryptic promo package from the Undertaker reveals the reason behind Takers actions. Taker is shown standing in a crop field looking like the Grim Reeper. He reveals that he sets out to
destroy the soul of John Cena before it turns evil.
John Cena returns on the go home RAW after hes absence. He looks as good as new and returns with the "NEVER GIVE UP" shirt. Cena says that to overcome this darkness he must look for the light. He has abig motivational speech returning to the John Cena we all know and love/hate. Undertaker comes out for one last stare down. Undertaker expresses that a broken man who cant be fixed is evil. Maybe Cena can surprise attack Taker with an AA. This leads to the iconic Undertaker sit up.
So yeah... that's how I would do it. What do you guys think? Do you lot have any other ideas?
