The Avengers Game

I'm just looking for some opinions on this game.

I nearly purchased it the other day but I've not heard anyone talking about it... at all. And that doesn't really bode well for perceptions.

I absolutely loved the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games from a few years back and if it's like them I may give it a go.

Anyone here played it?​

Spider-Man was absolutely amazing and this was presented as "that but Avengers" so I was super hype but I've heard it's a tad mediocre so I haven't got around to buying it myself.

As a huge marvel fan I'm sure I'll still love it, especially now that I'm not as keen to compare it to Spider-Man

love Marvel but only as far as Movies.

I have never read any of the Comics so I don't know if this is or not, but is it not really random they just decided to have Ms. Marvel as one of the main characters in this?

It is but isn't at the same time. She isn't really associated with The Avengers much in the comics but she's also newer and doesn't have a lot of history in general yet. She's becoming more and more popular and I personally love her as a character so I have no problem with the inclusion. But I can def see why it seems weird and above all else...forced.

Ah, so it's not a continuity thing from the Comics.

It's more like they are basing it onto popularity to get more sales?

Even if that is the case I can't fault that.

Eh idk bc I dont know if she's THAT popular lol I think it might be more likely an attempt to convert her to mainstream early bc they think they can capitalize on it. She checks all the SJW boxes so I have no doubt Marvel wants to make her an A character in this climate but the good news is the character so far has been amazingly written.

She also has a Disney+ TV series connected to the MCU coming out in a couple years

I forgot about all of those even though I only read a few days back that Falcon and Winter Soldier had wrapped up filming.

It’s a pretty fun game, repetitive yes but still fun. It’s similar to the Destiny games where even after you finish the main story there’s still a lot to do, like grinding your way to get the best gear, outfits, and skills for each Avenger.

If you don’t mind repetition in game play and grinding in a game, then I recommend it. I personally really like it a lot, repetitiveness doesn’t really bother me all that much tbh and I like grinding

For the most part you can choose who you want to be but there are times when the game chooses for you, and each character has their mission chains that you can work on at your own leisure that are kind of connected to the main story of the single player.

The single player portion starts off with Ms Marvel at first for awhile but as you progress you can choose who you want to play as

Sounds much like Ultimate Alliance was.

Ahh they were great.

A fair sized roster of heroes to pick from as well. You played as a team or 4 heroes at once and could switch pretty much any time you wanted.

My favourite team was Blade, Daredevil, Blank Panther and Deadpool.

I played just a bit of them and if I had to say, this one would be a bit more character story driven with a smaller roster of characters where Ultimate Alliance was more arcade-like, but yeah it was fucking awesome being able to pick teams of characters like that. Deadpool was definitely always in mine
