After watching AJ Styles vs. Tommy Dreamer, I can only say WOW! Using a fork to scrape the eye of Dreamer out? Is this japan? I thought it was slightly over the top but I do like the storyline behind it. Dreamer won't quit but has to incase AJ tears his eye out. The "Fork to the eye" is something which is rarely done in the United States, It really furthered the storyline between Fortune and EV since Tommy quitting shows the power behind Fortune and AJ Styles. Dreamer isn't the type of character that would quit but AJ took him to the limit so he quit, thus making AJ more powerful.

I think this was a major victory for Fortune and a perfect example of the "Joy of victory and agony of defeat". Dreamer in the future will feel like he wants revenge because no-one has been able to make him quit, except for AJ. I have to applaud TNA on this decision as it furthers the storyline and for it to be done any other way would be wrong and would just completely kill the storyline (Exactly like Wade tapping).

Mmm i sure hope they haven't brought EV just to job to Fourtune and Abyss though.. they seriously deserve more respect than that and all 3 matches ECW lost last night were kinda BS...

How do they do a "fork to the eye" prop? I've never seen it done so I don't know..

Do they squeeze a blood capsule in the hand with the fork, let it drip into the victim's eye socket or what..?

Meh, it was just hardcore for the sake of being hardcore imo.

and tbh the whole hardcore thing I could care less for anymore, that shit died out with ECW

I'm gonna have to agree with Straight Edge on this one. The era of ultra violence died out with ECW. CZW has proven even recently with super young death of J.C. Bailey that you can't get over anymore just by throwing yourself through glass tables and burning ladders of whatever the fuck else they feel they need to do. Abyss is an exception to the rule. Essentially the last of a dying breed.

You don't need to take unprotected chair shots and forks to the eye to advance a storyline. What you need is charisma & storytelling ability so that we can believe in what you are doing. Tommy taking a fork to the eye only continues to prove that his lot NEEDS to do this kind of crap in order to earn a living, since they can't seem to feel comfortable living a normal life without thinking about how awesome it would be to be driven through a table in front of 200 fans again.

I am not gonna lie, back in 2000 I loved the ultra hardcore style of wrestling, but then again I was fucking 10, what 10 year old doesn't love extreme violence and gore? But as I got older and my wrestling horizions began to expand I came to realize how simple minded and dumb the hardcore stuff was. Now don't get me wrong, I am not opposed to a hard bump with a table, chair or even a barbed wire baseball bat, but the whole 'Forking' thing just seems like a sad attempt to relive something that doesn't have any place in mainstream American wrestling anymore anyways.

I honestly am losing some respect for Dreamer just for doing that, I was always a Dreamer fan, but I thought that he moved on from the ECW hardcore days and would have been able to have a decent straight up match with AJ, but he just had to try and relive his glory days (which were 90% Heyman and 10% the workers) and just embarrased himself if you ask me.
