'Terra Nova' star joins high-profile CBS pilot
The death knell has sounded even louder for Terra Nova, the freshman dino drama that’s busy hunting for a new home now that Fox canceled it. To wit: star Jason O’Mara just booked a co-leading role in CBS’ high-profile period drama about Las Vegas lawdog Ralph Lamb.
O’Mara will join Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis in the drama pilot from writers Nicholas Pileggi and Greg Walker, reports Deadline. Quaid will play Lamb while O’Mara will play his younger brother Frank. Chiklis gets to chuck the white hat for a change and play a Chicago mob fixer.
This is a second position booking for O’Mara, meaning if another outlet picks up Terra Nova — Netflix maybe? — he won’t join the CBS project. But working alongside Quaid and Chiklis sounds a heckuva lot better than acting scared in front of faux prehistoric creatures. Just saying…
