This is a sequel to Terminator 3 Chuck. Regardless, this film is less about plot and more about delivering the explosive action film that the third installment should have been.
Well, maybe they'll just use a bit of artistic license with that, or preferably ignore the third film entirely. In fact I hope it's the latter, given how utterly terrible it was.
Oh come on man, Arnie trying on those Elton John-esque sunglasses didn't make you ball your firsts in rage? The whole thing seemed to be making fun of itself, which is fine for some films (more specifically films involving Bruce Campbell in some way) but not in Terminator.
I read in an interview with McG that Christian Bale told them to fuck off when he first read the script because it was just action and explosions. Bale told them to rework it into something they could act out like a play and he'd sign. I don't know if that means it will be good, but it gives me hope that Bale's standards are really high and this movie is going to be awesome. Fingers crossed.
