OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma teenager has pleaded guilty in the killing of his grandparents.
Kyle Smith, 17, was sentenced to life in prison in the April deaths of David and Rose Garrick.
Eyewitness News 5's Jessica Holloway has been at the Oklahoma County Courthouse covering Tuesday's proceedings. She reported that Smith waived his right to an appeal but that he will undergo a mental health evaluation.
Per the terms of his plea agreement, Smith would have to serve 38 years before he was eligible for parole.
Smith has agreed not to ask for time off for good behavior.
