AURORA, Colo. -- Police say a 15-year-old accused of staging her own disappearance and prompting a statewide Amber Alert was found Monday in Aurora.

A tip led investigators to a motel in the 14200 block of E. Colfax Avenue and an officer spotted Jasmine Fike from his unmarked police car near a fast-food restaurant.

Officials say Fike had altered her appearance, but police were able to confirm her identity and she was taken
