Teacher avoids prosecution

A 42 year old woman Leah Shipman, slept with a 15 year old student, resulting in the expolsion of her job as a teacher, and a divorce. Everything was looking bad, facing up to 15 years in prison. She gets the idea that if she marries her then 15 year old (now 17 year old) lover, then legally he can not be compelled to testify against his new wife, and that is exactly what happened, because the boys parents agreed. She did this 6 days after her divorce, and without his testimoy there is no case what so ever. So she got off free

The way my brain works, and I am aware it is backwards, and hypocritical. I see this relationship, and although very freaking weird, it was consesual and legal according to the law, so I don't think it's a big deal. I had a few teachers I wouldn't mind banging in h.s.

Here is my sexist/hypocritcal part of my brain that kicks in. Had it have been a male teacher at the age of 42 and a 15 year old girl. I'd have a compeletely different opinion on it.

I know that's weird, but Do you think what this woman did was wrong or no? How about if the roles were reversed?

It is sexist in a way, but it's also a bit logical IMO. When an older woman seduces a teenage boy we know it's all about sex and the boy really wants to do it. When the situation is reversed, often times the older man has to persuade the girl to do it. Maybe by saying things like, "If you love me you'll do it" or things like that. Women at all ages, for the most part, equate sex with love. Men on the other hand, equate sex with pleasure. At 15 male hormones are running wild brother, so I think it does make a difference what sexes are what ages.

That's true. If my daughter was involved, id want to kill the person, but if it was my son, I'd be pissed, but think that he wanted it too.

EDIT: I hope no one takes that too literally^ I'd probably murder anyone that did that to my children. As an outsider though, my OP was my reaction.

But either way, it's still wrong imo.
