I got the idea to do this column through constant e-mails from a one Brian. Now, Brian would come off as the normal feedbacker, only he was persistent. He was persistent in getting nothing but my thoughts on where Christian’s push was going. It escalated when on one Tuesday night he e-mailed me with the subject line of “Dude, Where’s Christian’s Push At?†I’ve been called original before, but the title to this column goes purely to Brian. Thanks, Brian. Despite that, I still came up with the format. And, as requested by Brian himself, all hate mail can be sent to the following address: HateMail@Brian.com
Zack Ryder has been on fire as of late. On fire via the net, that is. Ever since he started his little web show fans from all over have been coming to it and celebrating how good of a star Ryder potentially is. Thing is, Vince and the E don’t necessarily agree on this fact. I, sometimes, agree with them. I’ll say, though, he was becoming one of my faves on Raw last year right up to his Fatal 4-Way United States title match where he suffered a concussion. A lot of people were saying he was the star of that great televised match. Even more called for him to win the United States strap soon. Nothing happened, though, as the WWE kind of milked his concussion, and when he returned it was nothing more than the undercard to Superstars. Fast forward to now, and he has single handedly built up quite the audience, and to top it all off, he has been paired with his former Major Brothers, and Edge-Head partner Curt Hawkins. The question still stands, though. Dude, Where’s Zack Ryder’s Push At?
Tisk, tisk. CM Punk is a star no doubt, no doubt. He’s a former three time World Champion, but you wouldn’t know it by the way he’s been booked of late. His last World Title match, to my extended knowledge, was at the Fatal Four-Way PPV event last year. That’s closing on a year. If you want to be a little more technical about it, and decide when his last one-on-one match for a World Title was and you’d have to go all the way back to when he lost the World Heavyweight Championship to the Undertaker way back in late summer of 2009. Again, this is just to my extended knowledge, if anybody wants to do a lengthy research on it, do so, and leave your findings in the comments section. Either way, those facts are coming off the top of my head which means there the only memorable bouts. Anyways, I’m getting side-tracked here. Fact remains, CM Punk is without much doubt THE top heel in the WWE today. Yet, he finds himself getting knocked-out and RKO-ed into the realms of jobber status. Now, it’s rumored that he is on his way out of the company for, at the very least, an extended vacation. Can you blame the guy, though? If Vince knows any better he’ll do the right thing and insert Punk into a lengthy rivalry with Cena immediately. I doubt that is what will happen, and in a few weeks, when Punk is leaving, we’ll all be asking the same thing. Dude, Why Didn’t you Push CM Punk Any Further?
In February, shortly after the SuperBowl, the WWE made a visit to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On this unfortunate night R-Truth came to the ring in his famous “What’s Up†entrance. When he entered the ring and was about to say his final “What’s Upâ€, he slipped. Instead of saying the correct location, he piped out “Green Bay, Wisconsin…†The rest, as they say, is history. He was pushed to the lower-card and wasn’t seen on Raw for quite a few weeks. He wasn’t featured on the WrestleMania card. The night following WrestleMania on Raw he was nowhere to be seen. Then, it happened. The next week he threw his name in a Number 1 Contender’s match to the WWE Championship, and eventually fought his way to a tie with Juan Cena. It was incredible to see him just show up after what seemed like a three-month disappearance and snag a spot in the WWE Championship match. The only problem with the whole thing was there was no way people would take him seriously with the same annoying character. Then, it happened again. He lost his slot in the title match and thus turned heel. I predicted before that whole occurrence that R-Truth was on track to lose his job before the summer ended. As it stands now, he’ll probably, at the very, very least, get a one-on-one shot at a World Title. If you ask me, that’s quite the push. So, for that I say this. Dude, Thanks for Pushing R-Truth Like That!
I like this format, I like it a lot. Expect another one in the near future. Feel free to send along suggestions for who should be included in the spots. Also, don’t forget to let me know what you thought of each of these opinions. Don’t fret from letting me know if they were stupid ones, or good ones. As always, you can do so by leaving comments in that comment section, or by sending me a long a friendly e-mail. It’s always appreciated. Much love, kiddos!
Before I leave, I want to make an announcement. Yesterday, FightLife Magazine’s own Justin Henry finished up an exclusive interview that will be featured in the May 25th issue. I won’t tell you who exactly it was he interview, but I’ll leave a clue. This particular fellow was the co-winner of Tough Enough III. Yeah, you read it right. I’ll even offer up a deal. The first one to send in who they think it is, and guess correctly will win a free issue of the May 25th issue of FightLife.
Until tomorrow, though, it’s me sayin’ hey, maybe we’re all going to love TNA one day…
