I'm a suplex mark so I gotta be a huge fan of Taz. Shame his career was basically over after leaving ECW but I'm glad he's made a livelihood in the business still even if he's had periods where I didn't care for his commentary lmao

Well in WWE he had to be kinda goofy because that's what Vince wanted from him. In TNA he had to heel it up a bunch which I think gets old no matter who does it. In AEW he's just being himself on commentary and cutting amazing promos with his stable.

Taz was one of my favorite talents around that era that had plenty of talent in ECW. As I went through Puberty really fast watching ECW, this guy was destroying Wrestlers left and right. The reason why I love guys like Shingo and Ishii tpday I see so much in Taz in them that I loved. Break you into pieces to the point you wanna quit and retire.

Really only remember Taz as a commentator, sadly.

Seen some of his matches in ECW and he was a beast.

Shame that his only real notable thing in WWE as a wrestler was his debut.
Beating Kurt Angle and then 1 year later being jobbed out straight away in the 2001 Rumble. Must have sucked big time for him.

He's a fucking legend and I never get tired of watching him suplex people.

That being said he was pretty run down pretty early in his WWE run was he not? The one thing they did that was just a dick move was having Triple H handedly beat him on SmackDown while he was ECW champion, after he had won it off Awesome and before he dropped it to Dreamer. That was just sheer spite.

The story I always heard is the Angle match pretty much screwed his WWE run. They weren't thrilled with how dangerous the match was.
