Who's going to be taking HBK's place in the WWE?

Who's going to be taking Batista's spot? (If he leaves)

I'll split my picks with a current/future wrestler to full his role.

I'll go with Edge moving into HBK slot as the "showstopper" main eventer with big bumps. As far as a young HBK, i'll go John Morrison. He'll have to work his way up to main event status.

Batista isn't so easy. The easy pick would be Sheamus, and i think i'll go with that. But i could see Ted Dibiase moving up the ranks in the future as a long term replacement for Batista. Completely different style of wrestler, but i don't Zeke Jackson getting a super push.

LMAO @ ANYONE taking HBK's spot. Especially Edge.

Batista's departure won't leave a big enough hole to leave a "spot".

I see this as more of an opportunity for young talent to shine.

Edge is to injury-prone to replace HBK, and he's nowhere near as good in the ring as Michaels.

Morrison STILL sucks on the mic, and that will continue to hold him back in the near future.

I do agree about Sheamus possibly replacing Batista. Of course, he would need some legit wins over top guys before that can happen.

It is more about who you all thought would be taking their spots.

Certainly no one can fill HBK shoe's, and i didn't mean Edge would do that. I just think he's going to be the next "mr. wrestlemania" and go out there, and have the best matches, and improve over the years. Yes Edge is injury prone, but we will see.

In reality i see CM Punk only getting bigger over the next few years, and will likely be getting the most benefits from the older wrestlers retiring. I just don't think he fits in the HBK mold. He's more of the Austin/Hart mold i'd say. I know others compare punk to HBK.

Obviously the faces will be Cena,HHH,Taker,Orton,Jericho,Edge,Big Show. Honestly that is more than enough already so I think we will be fine. I do however think that HHH will up his performance game I believe

^Do you mean faces as in babyfaces or faces as in nose, eyes and mouth?

I can certainly see Sheamus playing the Batista role, I think he has the potential to be so much better than him. The only thing Sheamus needs is to get a face run, which I think won't be too difficult for him to pull off (of course it will need alot more thought put into it than Batista's face turn).

I am a little bit on either side on a replacement for HBK, of course he is irreplacable but I also think it is a chance for JoMo or Miz to shine. JoMo reminds me of HBK alot in the ring and I think his promos are actually pretty solid (I realise you need more than solid to be compared to HBK). Although Miz isn't as comparable in the ring as HBK (style wise) Miz cuts amazing promos that could work both as a face or heel (of course Miz would need a face run to be anything like a Shawn Michaels replacement, which I really can see happening)

Morrison's promo are not solid, they are quite frankly pathetic, and his so called amazing matches are nothing more than cute spots and are painfully repetitive. The heel always work on Morrison's ribs only to have JoMo no sell the pain at the end and idiotically hit his finisher which seems to hurt him more than his opponent.

Miz on the other hand could be a nice substitute. One can only assume he will only get better in the ring, he loves the business like nobody and if they ever decide to make him a face, they can exploit his passion for the business and how he never gave up when nobody in the locker room thought he could make it.

I just don't think The Miz should be rushed into the main event scene. He's ready now, but how much sweeter would a world title win be in like 3 or 4 yrs time.

As far as being a seasoned veteran with extremely talented in ring skills, I would definitely say Jericho will fill HBK's void. However, Jericho's matches are never as highly regarded as HBK's. Although Jericho's matches are always great, they never get touted or shown the respect HBK's matches get. Maybe with HBK gone Jericho's matches will be looked upon better.

Batista's spot? I don't know. I guess any schmo can fill his spot. Any main event star that can take up space and win championships here or there can definitely take the reigns Batista let go. I want to say Sheamus, but until he gets to his Sophomore World title reign I don't see it.

 I think this post pretty much sums up how I feel. Especially about Morrison. Unless something happens to Miz or he does something stupid, he's a lock for main event status. It's just a matter of time when. I just hope they don't hold it off too long to the point where no one will care anymore.

Chris Jericho should definitely fill in the role of HBK, he puts on great matches, cuts some awesome promos, has great feuds, puts over all the young talent and once he starts slowing down and gets more into his music stuff he can take long breaks like HBK did, he's the perfect fit for an HBK role imo.

No idea who would take Batista's place, don't even care, I'm just glad he;s leaving, so sick of his rematches. Although I'll admit he's been much better since turning heel and feuding with Cena, but everything before then was horrible.
