I've been wondering this for a little while. Never thought it was thread worthy, but figured what the heck. Lately we've seen the WWE pushing lots of new talents and of those standouts...about 3 guys to me, are all about the same. Sheamus, Barrett and McIntyre. On top of that, you can now add the debuting Alberto Del Rio to the mix.

So who's your pick to be the "Next big Thing"

I know Sheamus already has held the Gold twice, however do you these other guys are more talented qualified, and it was more that Sheamus was in the right place at the right time?

Your thoughts?

IN YOUR HEAD! HULKAMANIACS!
i chose McIntyre, i love his promos, love his ring work and how ruthless he is, love his finisher.

Del Rio- i like his ring work, he needs to cut the crap in his promos, he kinda annoys me.

Sheamus- talentless, walking jar a mayonaise who WWE shined up to look half decent and doesn't deserve any heat or titles at all.

Barrett- i think he should have stayed in singles instead of doing this nexus thing, he does alot of the work and stuff for Nexus but its all divided because of chumps like Tarver and Slater. If the Nexus hadn't happened, i might have chosen him.

Sheamus - Undoubtly, I hope Sheamus can have a decent run. His first reign as WWE champ was short and uneffective. He always seemed inferior to his opponents (Cena and Orton) and was the first to be eliminated from the Elimination Chamber. I hope WWE can give him a decent run with the title this time. The only issue I can see is that WWE won't do it since they don't want Cena and Orton loasing clean to this guy. I think he'd get a fantastic world title reign if on Smackdown.

Drew McIntyre - At one point, Drew was supposed to be the next World champion. Labelled as The chosen one, He really improved in the ring in the recent months and the last month before his push got derailed. It's a shame as I truly think he could have been a major star. Now, he's in a team with Cody Rhodes (Who, I'm also a fan of). I want a IC and possibly world title run out of this man.

Wade Barrett - I doubt he will become the WWE champ at NOC. I honestly don't see him grabbing the belt at all. During the best weeks of Nexus, I could see him getting the belt along the way but the push seems to have halted and ever since SummerSlam, he has not been the same (In terms of being pushed).

Alberto Del Rio - I think this man will be the next big thing. He is being pushed so heavily that you can't not notice him. I am a big fan of Alberto and I enjoy his promos and his wrestling matches (His battle against Matt Hardy this past week on SD was absolutely terrific).

When answering the question "Who will be the next big thing?" I think it is undoubtably Alberto Del Rio.

^ The Miz is being pushed so heavily that it's unbelievable. I love his promo skills & wrestling skills. He is one of the best wrestlers in the world. Every match he's been in recently has been good.

As for McIntyre, I want him to grab the belt but I truly think he will be restricted to the mid-cards now; It's a shame.

I think The Miz is the next big thing. In my point of view,he is already that. I mean,I can say he is the best on mic in WWE (with Chris Jericho and Edge),his ring skills are really good, and like John said in post before "Every match he's been in recently has been good". Plus for 99 % he will win WWE Championship in few weeks,so that proves that.
About Sheamus and McIntyre,Sheamus is right now their "next big thing". Two time World Champion,"retired Triple H".The are pushing him as next big thing, but very soon Miz will get over him. McIntyre is also good, but I think he's still not ready to be a world champion.
In past few weeks there was a lot of talk about Alberto Del Rio. To be honest,I'm not amused by him at all. His ring skills are decent, but his promos look very "fake" to me if you know what I mean. He doesn't look natural in his promos, and he doesn't sell the story and gimmick to me at all.
SO GO MIZ! LOL Miz is now my second favorite wrestler in WWE,first is Jericho,Orton is third and Edge is fourth.

Miz above everyone else listed by a far margin.

I thought about adding Miz, but for some reason the four guys i listed all seem to have commanality in the international flavor, fresh/new, and in the middle of a "BIG" push. Miz has been around for a while, and is certainly making his way up the card, and will likely be a big deal in the future. However i was looking more towards the guys listed. But i would have to agree with you in terms of the next big thing, the Miz could be listed up there with these guys.

As others have already said, Sheamus already is their next big thing. He's got a unique look, high impact in ring style, passable mic skills & otherwise has already held the belt twice, retired Triple H & otherwise is a fixture in WWE's main event scene.

The Miz is quickly working his way up to that point as well. He's got the money in the bank contract, which all but guarantees that he's going to get a title reign. But like what we saw with Jack Swagger, it's going to be how he delivers it that determines whether his reign is going to mean jack diddly squat. I personally think he's basically the next Chris Jericho, and with Jericho on his way out the door, that opens the door far and wide for Miz to capture the spotlight.

Drew McIntyre has the intensity, the look, the mic skills, the ring skill and just overall the whole package that WWE is looking for in a breakout star. I liken him to the next Triple H, as their looks are extremely similar from their early careers, and I think all that's needed is for Creative to give him the ball and he will run with it.

Wade Barrett has already beaten several of the top stars cleanly, something Sheamus hasn't been able to pull off yet. I think his push is being stalled big time by making his title match a six pack challenge. If they would of made this one on one, then I would put MONEY on Barrett becoming the champion. But now that he has 5 other guys who are going to predictably beat the shit out of him and eliminate him first, he's basically screwed. Which is a shame because like McIntyre above, he's got all the tools to run with the championship and give Nexus some much needed steam. Even after they disband the group Barrett could still "secure his job" because he would be the champion and they couldn't afford to lose him.

Alberto Del Rio is the second coming of JBL. Which is ironic because JBL hated immigrants.

I have not seen any of them do a moonsault, so none of them are very good imo.

i don't even like cody rhodes, he;s just hell of a lot better then the new talent that just jumped into the main event. Flash in a pan that's going to die out soon and I guess they;re getting all they can out of them, but why doesn't the oh so intelligent IWC not see on to this? For years we've seen jobbers and talented workers in the same role, the best rise to the top working through bad gimmicks and slowly forcing their way into the crows attention. Now that everything is given to these rookies, no one's giving them shit or even pointing out their flaws. You say they're great superstars with bad booking. lmao.

For a 2nd generation star who's always had a job available too him, Cody's been working to make his own path. He's the kind of guy that you can tell just from looking at em that he wants to pave his way into the WWE, the same way all the greats before him already has. fuck i bet he's already done a promo saying that before too. Last week Miz had a promo of his ups and downs and if you look at em now he's a bonified star who's worked through the trenches into his spot. That's how real prowrestlers want to do it and that's why JBL was stiff as fuck whenever it was his time to put someone over.

Randy Orton started out, annoying as fuckk. with the highlight of his career being injury updates on his status pretending like someone cared. Triple H then carried him to the top and the dub hasn't looked back since. I don't know what Flair Or triple H said to Orton, but since then his biggest move is the dropkick that injured his leg in the first place. This guy won't take a risk at all, ever, and as a fan of the guys who would break their leg twice to be in his spot, you look down on that shit. His PPV matches, would mainly consist of a 5 minute headlock, and his cena feuds there would be a headlock every 3 minutes since Cena can't control a match. ever. Blame WWE all you want but you can work around restrictions. Fuck Orton, Fuck Cena for never evolving and playing their careers safe so we can see em do the same shit for 12 years.

Sheamus, he won't last in the main event spot for long. I don't even closely fathom how that's even a possibility. He just has a variety of moves and he knows how to perform them safely, that's why he's in the main event alongside the Cena and Ortons. He won't stay here for long since he lacks main event mic skills (you can't tell me this guy can stay in the main event the way he is, and you can't really tell me a gimmick is going to change anything.) Same with Barret, he's suppose to have mic skills but i'd rather listen to sheamus talk. Next Big thing? Not anytime soon, anyone can win a belt. It's the feuds that don't have a belt tied in with it, where an actual working storyline has to be present. Barret would be nothing without Nexus. All i can see him doing proficiently is bugging the miz. Not main event shit.

Albert Del faggo is just lol, only reason he's in the WWE is because of his fabled past. he's the guy who wore a luchador mask and got knocked out by cro crop. Just another example of putting actual wrestling in the main event. It's not everlasting. Same with everyone else. Drew has nothing on paul burchill so that's all i gotta say on that.

Cody is the only one showing me potential of being able to hit the main event and stay in it. So that's that now i gotta redirect this post cause you fucking spammed in two threads you spamming smurf. fuck you
