A battle between submission specialists has been agreed to as TJ Waldburger will take on @ninjaroberts at UFC Fight Night September 17
This could prove to be an entertaining ground battle, as Waldburger made his UFC debut with a splash, setting a new UFC record for the most combined submission attempts in a fight in his decision win over David Mitchell (13 over three rounds: 7 for Waldburger, 6 for Mitchell). The Texan didn't find the same success in his next fight, suffering a quick TKO loss to Johny Hendricks in March.
"Ninja" Roberts, meanwhile, finds himself in desperate need of a win after losing two consecutive decisions against Claude Patrick and Rich Attonito. The Cesar Gracie-trained BJJ brown belt had pulled off some nifty submissions against the likes of Mike Guymon and Greg Soto prior to that skid, but he's found his conditioning to be an issue in the recent losses.
