While being interviewed by Bootleg Kev at Rolling Loud California, Strickland was asked about Mone joining the AEW roster and reportedly signing a big-money deal with the company. Strickland said AEW is building a dynasty right now. He hopes Mone's impact can help boost the revenue for other women's wrestlers across the industry.
Strickland said:
Like I said, we're building a dynasty now in AEW. And for what she could do for women's wrestling, not just for AEW but across the industry period, it's pivotal. She's a matriarch for that. Just putting her - I've never seen a women's free agent make that kind of noise. Like, ever. She's top billing. She's worth it. And hopefully that challenges other industries to have to boost the revenue for other female wrestlers like that.
Also during his interview with Bootleg Kev, Strickland was asked about what his experiences with CM Punk in AEW were like:
I was his last [AEW] TV match in an all-star tag match multi-man on Collision. I had great experiences with him. I didn't interact with him a lot, but I always had good, positive interactions. On my first day there, I was taking my photos - my renders. And he jumped in and photobombed it. I never even spoke to him, never had an introduction to him. But that was his first interaction to me. And I was like, 'Oh man, this is cool. That's dope.' I went out, did my contract signing, and he was like, 'How'd it go, man?' I was like, 'Oh dude, it went excellent. Thank you.' So he's always been, like, a positive influence in me.
