Well, we can all officially discuss this now I suppose. Jack Swagger has just captured the ECW title from Matt Hardy. What the hell do you guys think?

Personally I really can't stand the guy. And not in the "BOOO HEEL..BOO!!!" sense...but like really can't stand to look at this guy. His horribly misbuilt body...freakish long arms...hideous grin...::shudders::. I REALLY don't think this guy is ready to be holding a major title. And yeah, okay I know...ECW is supposed to be a developmental brand. But seriously, this guy makes so many basic mistakes still in his matches it's ridiculous. He's horrible on the mic...and what the hell kind of gimmick is "THE ALL AMERICAN AMERICAN"?
When he won the match there was just a general disapproval in the crowd. No explosion of boo's and heat. Just people simply staring in silence, shaking their heads and giving the thumbs down with puzzled looks.
With Dreamer's recent revelation that if he doesn't win the title by June he'll retire does this mean we're going to have to watch this douche carry the belt for five fucking months? Shoot me now.

I wish they'd drop the "All American American" tag too. Redundant.

I don't think he's bad and has great potential, however, I question where they're going with him? Bring Kozlov over from Smackdown and have them rip each other up? I'm at a draw as for what they'll do. (that's not such a bad thing though)

I am really curious as to which "mistakes" Swagger does in his matches?

To put it bluntly, he has mixed reactions from people. You love him or you hate him and the way people treat ECW, does it really matter if they have a fuck-up for a World Champion?

I'm not saying he's one btw.

Transitional champ.... The real question is who else was there?

Maybe Mike Knox, but hey, they're doing the thing with Rey on Raw (Incidentally, thank fuck they're finally gonna have a match... That shit was just annoying.).

I doubt I'll catch the match so I'm wondering... I know it was an exposed turnbuckle shot which got him the win, but depending on the way the match went (and who did what) I don't really see it as that 'dirty' a finish... In which case Mr Swagger has had a very nice rub.

I think that they should give Evan Bourne a match for the championship, he'd smash Jack Swagger!

I could tell Jack Swagger would be a World Champ from the instant I saw him and I'm not too pissed about it happening this early; it spells out some good things for his future in the WWE and the WWE can always use that future Main Eventer.

This (to me) looks like a way to get the title off of Matt for him to go into a program with his brother, Edge, and the mystery attacker. But the talk about his look, I see nothing wrong with it. This guy has a bright future in the E, he has a good look to him, and The All American American gimmic doesn't seem as bad as some of you are putting it. He's still green yes, and has a lot to learn, this is only the beginning, there will be more of Swagger in the future.

And for those that's saying it's too early, I don't think it is. ECW now seems to be a developmental brand for new comers. They have the "Superstar Initiative" bringing in talent from FCW and they have their talent enhancment in Henry and Finlay to name a few. So there's going to be new guys holding the title. The talent enhancement passes the title to the talent that's enhanced, in this case Hardy to Swagger. So there's going to be new guys holding that title, Swagger will indeed not be the last.

Swagger isn't bad, like I've said. He's got the amateur wrestling background which is good. I like that about him. He just needs a gimmick, but then again, so does half the freakin' combined roster. That will come with time.

Also, I hope he holds onto the title for awhile, not just 2 months. It'd be nice to see him hold it for a year (if they could manage to keep it interesting for that long) and remain undefeated. That'd be instant credibility to the main event tier of Raw and SD.

...still hate him....lol.

Aside from that though he really truly looks like one of those local jobbers they bring in for Boogeyman to squash or for Big Show to knock out. I dunno...I really don't see ANYTHING special about him. I know it's early...he's a rookie....but I really hate him..lol.

Yeah I got to know this too. How can holding a title for a year on the ECW brand instantly make you credible to a world title on RAW or SD? Staying on their, he'd just be beating jobbers, new guys, and talent enhancement. Don't see how that will make you credible.

There's more than one way of reading the initial statement anyway so all-round clarity would be good.

He could hold the title for a year, undefeated and then transition to say..Smackdown, where he could demand title shots and claim in his promos that he's a "year long champion" not a "transitional title holder". Also, the announcers could put him over by mentioning that whenever he'd be on screen. I understand the caliber isn't quite the same on ECW, but if he occasionally got challenges from Smackdown and Raw's roster, and beat mid carders here and there, it'd help the case.

JBL used the "10 month champion" bit for awhile, remember?

Shit..who cares? I'm sure you'll both shit all over me and tell me I have no idea what I'm talking about, so fuck it.

lol yeah.

Because guys like Edge, HHH, Undertaker, Hardy, Big Show and others would tremble at Jack Swagger...the man who spent a year wrestling Finlay and Tommy Dreamer...lol.
