WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - Officials at Palm Beach International Airport say a suspicious substance found on a Southwest Airlines plane that forced passengers to be evacuated on Wednesday has been determined not to be dangerous.
Airport spokeswoman Cassandra Davis says passengers were preparing to take Flight 793 to Baltimore on Wednesday afternoon when they were ordered off the plane.
Davis says the plane remained at the airport on Wednesday evening after the unidentified substance was deemed safe. She did not immediately know whether the passengers boarded another flight to their destination.
Airline officials did not immediately return a phone message left by The Associated Press on Wednesday evening.
