Eh it's not too tough if you are decent at texting and don't have to look at every keystroke. I do it so I am never looking away from the road for any longer than a sneeze, but I see people all the time literally head down two hands on their fucking phone.

I never look at a stroke (touch typing badass here), but I can't multitask to save my life (Xanth). So I end up just not concentrating on the road at all even though I am staring at it.

Not surprising. I've been on the road with a few of my friends, and most of them text, including my uncle. Only two I know doesn't text, and it's scary as fuck being in a car with someone who texts since they don't pay attention and swerve slightly when they drive. Trying to be cool and saying that they are pro drivers, and I don't know what I'm talking about when I tell them not to do it

I don't see why anyone bothers to text while driving. Whatever is so important to text about while driving can just as well wait until you're not behind the wheel.

I guess there are instances where it's acceptable. If there's an emergency or something, then answering the message is acceptable but texting back while in the midst of traffic still isn't. But 99.9% of people who send and receive messages to and from someone aren't even doing it for those reasons. And even then, I don't see why you can't pull over when sending a text back to someone.

I wouldn't dare text while driving. I don't even answer my phone if I am driving a car unless I have a handsfree. If I drive I want to have all my attention on driving.

For starters it's illegal here in the UK and secondly you can tell a mile off when a car in front of you is texting, especially on a motorway. Their speed will drop from 70mph to 60mph in a few seconds, they swerve and you can see their eyes aren't anywhere near the road.

As it's listed as one of the "fatal 4" by some Police forces here, I think it's safe to say it's not a good idea!
