CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A former Oscar Smith Middle School student filed a lawsuit in Norfolk federal court claiming his former assistant principal had him strip searched to find a cell phone.
Alonzo Price wants $350,000 in damages for the 2005 incident. Price says Samuel Kambar Khoshaba and a school security guard took him into a room on the school's campus on February 22, 2005 and had him take off his clothes, so they could find a cell phone.
The lawsuit says Price's Fourth Amendment right was violated. The Fourth Amendment protects citizens from unlawful search and seizures.
Years ago, the lawsuit was filed, withdrawn and filed again in Chesapeake.
Khoshaba is currently an assistant principal at Western Branch High School .
