Stuart Pearce has been told by the Football Association that his contract as England U21 manager will not be renewed.

Pearce's contract expires at the end of June and he is understood to have informed the rest of his coaching staff that he will not be continuing beyond that date.

The 51-year-old's future had been in doubt for the last 12 months but his fate was sealed following England's disastrous showing at the European U21 Championship in Israel this month.

England exited the competition without a single point, losing all three of their matches against Italy, Norway and Israel and scoring just once against their Norwegian counterparts.

Who the hell is going to replace him?

I hope it's someone like Phil Brown...

Southgate favorite to take over? Finally a good decision by the FA.

Not sure he has the presence to change the way England youngsters play football.
He was terrible at Boro, jesus christ I was joking. He'll fail, nice guy and a good player, but he doesn't have anywhere near the ability or presence to be a successful manager.

I was like this at your post o_O but the last thing I wanted to do was get into some football debate about Boro with the biggest Boro mark I know. Fuck you, Cole.

England need a complete revamp, but that includes axing the national manager.
