I know a lot of people aren't going to be watching this, but i will be and i thought I'd make a separate thread for it so it's easier to post interviews, payouts, ratings and what not without having to create a single thread for each topic.

I'll be watching this, just because I always love to see Keith Jardine fight. I think he will win here but I don't know for sure, Luke Rockhold is a great fighter so Jardine will have to give him all he's got and I don't know how much he has got anymore.

A lightweight bout between former KOTC champ Bobby Green (17-5 MMA, 2-1 SF) and veteran competitor Alonzo Martinez (35-15-1 MMA, 0-0 SF) has been added to next month's "Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine" event.

Strikeforce officials recently confirmed the matchup.

"Strikeforce: Rockhold vs. Jardine" takes place Jan. 7 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

The evening's five-fight main card, including a middleweight title fight between champion Luke Rockhold and longtime UFC fighter Keith Jardine, airs on Showtime while the preliminary card airs on Showtime Extreme.

The event takes place during one of Showtime's free-preview weekends, which makes the channels available for free to more than 60 million households.

Green looks for his third straight win under the Strikeforce banner. After an extremely close split-decision defeat to notable Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante in his July promotional debut, he's since rebounded for submission victories over Charon Spain and J.P. Reese on Strikeforce Challengers cards. He's now 3-1 over his past four fights and 6-2 over his past eight. Fifteen of his 17 career wins have come via stoppage.

Martinez, a nine-year vet who's competed with organizations such as Bellator and Titan Fighting, makes his Strikeforce debut on the strength of a 8-1 run (and a 13-2 run since 2009). In fact, he went 7-1 during a busy 2011 campaign, and the lone defeat came to Porfirio Alves Jr. (8-3-1) at Superior Cage Combat 3 in Las Vegas. Past wins have come over the likes of Luke Caudillo, Waylon Lowe, Ryan Roberts, Demi Deeds and Dustin Neace.

This card was decent. Jardine did not deserve a title shot at all. He drew with Gegard in a terrible fight this card was nothing special and was easily skippable.

Yeah I used to like Jardine when he was in the UFC but he's Eh now, honestly have forgotten all about him.

But yeah even Rockhold came out last week and said that Jardine doesn't deserve a title shot, completely agree with him on that.

Jesus Christ.

Strikeforce are really desperate if they are selling glass Jaw-dine as a legit contender.

I really hope they get in some decent guys to fill out the divisions, this isnt a test for Rockhold, King Mo, or Robbie Lawler.

Sign Marquardt and Lombard ffs.

I really wish they'd sign Marquardt.

Can't see it happening though as long as Strikeforce is owned by Zuffa

Speaking of Nate though he's fighting next month, for BAMMA for the welterweight title.
