@GrammarNazi82 will love this one! :gn:

So I knew this happened and I know it is likely caused by people who can't spell definitely correctly and rely on spell check to do it for them... Which 90% of the time will give you defiantly as the "proper spelling". I used to have issues with this, I won't lie BUT I also knew when the auto correct was messing with me. There is a BIG difference between definitely and defiantly in definition. What is this world coming to? Oh right... Relying on computers to has brains for us peoples.

de·fi·ant·ly
dəˈfīəntlē/
adverb
in a manner that shows open resistance or bold disobedience.

def·i·nite·ly
ˈdef(ə)nətlē/
adverb
without doubt (used for emphasis).

A lot of people will spell out "definently" and when you use "auto-correct" the first option is....

I SOLFED THE RIDDEL MAWM!!! I GRAGIATED!!!

Instead of picking the SECOND option... People chose the first one and yeah...
God help the youth... GAWD HELP UM. I am no expert speller but I at least know the definitions of two basic words.

I defiantly need to stay under my rock...

Can't say this is something I've noticed a lot of people doing.

Though it seems like it's mostly a Twitter thing, which I have nothing to do with so that's probably why. But people are going to make grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes simply because they either don't know better or they don't care. Both are troubling to me for different reasons.

Actually as annoying as it sounds, Literally can now mean figuratively too.
According to the dictionary, “literally” now also means “figuratively”

The world is defiantly going to shit.

I didn't want to believe....

lit·er·al·ly
ˈlidərəlē,ˈlitrəlē/

in a literal manner or sense; exactly.
"the driver took it literally when asked to go straight across the traffic circle"
synonyms: exactly, precisely, actually, really, truly; More

informal
used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true.
"I have received literally thousands of letters"

HOW IN THE SAM JOSE DOES THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE!? You can't have the same word meaning LITERALLY opposite things!

If enough people use something out of context, then the "dictionary gawds" have the right to just change it to suit morons?
Isn't this like the opposite of education? They LITERALLY rewarded people for being uneducated by allowing them to be right.
