Release Date: September 22, 2021 (Disney +)

Lucasfilm has released the official Star Wars: Visions trailer for its very first anime series adaptation of George Lucas’ beloved sci-fi franchise, which hails from seven visionary Japanese anime studios. The anthology series will be available for streaming starting on Wednesday, September 22, exclusively on Disney+.

The video provides us a preview of the nine different stories we’ll get to explore in the upcoming series as it reimagines the galaxy far, far away through the singular style and tradition of Japanese anime. It also highlights the introduction of new characters, a captivating tone, and stunning visuals from each of the animated shorts.

“Lucasfilm is partnering with seven of the most talented anime studios in Japan to bring their signature style and unique vision of the Star Wars galaxy to this inspired new series,” says James Waugh, executive producer and Lucasfilm Vice President, Franchise Content & Strategy. “Their stories showcase the full spectrum of bold storytelling found across Japanese animation; each told with a freshness and voice that expands our understanding of what a Star Wars story can be, and celebrates a galaxy that has been such an inspiration to so many visionary storytellers.”

Happy as hell with Visions. I'm a watcher of Rebels, Bad Batch, and The Clone Wars and this is going to open up so many things for them going forward. All original stories when people are frustrated oh well it's the same stuff with Star Wars these days that won't be an issue now. I hope every one of these stories are Home Runs.
