TNA IMPACT WRESTLING “COUNTDOWN TO BOUND FOR GLORY†SPECIAL TO AIR ON SPIKE TV SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14 AT 7:00pm ET

Special to feature Pay-Per-View match, highlight BFG series matches, retrospectives and interviews prior to TNA WRESTLING’S biggest night of the year

Spike TV will present a new one-hour special, “Countdown to Bound For Glory,†on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at 7:00pm ET/4:00pm PT that will provide an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at TNA’s biggest and most star-studded event of the year.

“Countdown†will feature live behind-the-scenes interviews, an early Pay-Per-View match and crowd reaction, immediately prior to the start of the internationally distributed live event. Additionally, highlights of the inaugural TNA Hall of Fame celebration, featuring Sting, will be included in the countdown show. "Bound for Glory" presented by Direct Auto Insurance, airs live Sunday, October 14 at 8:00p.m. ET worldwide as one of pro wrestling’s top events of the year.

"This ‘Bound For Glory’ will be the biggest Pay-Per-View event in our ten-year history," states TNA President Dixie Carter. "With so much action set for the night, we are excited to bring this one-hour ‘Countdown’ special to Spike. It’s going to be a great way to kick off ‘Bound for Glory.’"

The superstars of Spike’s “IMPACT WRESTLING†will headline “Bound For Glory,†including Hulk Hogan, current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Sting, Jeff Hardy, Olympic Gold Medalist Kurt Angle, Rob Van Dam, Mr. Anderson, “The Phenomenal†AJ Styles, “The Samoan Submission Machine†Samoa Joe, the lovely and lethal TNA Knockouts, the stars of the X-Division and many more. “Bound For Glory†will feature the winner of the “Bound For Glory Series†in the main event for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Continuing the celebration of ten years of Total Nonstop Action, this will be the biggest weekend of the year for the superstars of IMPACT WRESTLING. The weekend will feature expanded activities in the Phoenix area, including a special “Bound For Glory Fan InterAction†and the inaugural annual TNA Hall of Fame induction. As announced at “Slammiversary†in June, the first-ever inductee is “The Icon†Sting.

Really good idea by TNA and SpikeTV to organise this extra program. It is a massive PPV for TNA and a countdown show is a really clever idea. It can remind people about the best moments and it should be able to get TNA some last minute PPV buys. Should be a decent draw for SpikeTV as well.

Yeah I agree I do think recently it is little things like this which TNA has done very well. Having guys like Prichard and Snow around can't hurt as I think they may have made these suggestions.

Just like a one hour pre-show? TNA has done specials before to get buys but not exactly this. I'd rather we have a showcase of talent, make Impact 3 hours the week before and have a special card that ends up hyping their biggest show of the year. I've seen them do that before, I wish they would go that route. It says there will be only one match on this show too so that will be just unused undercard talent. It's a good idea but I think they could do more to make us want to watch Bound For Glory.

I always have issues with three hour tv shows because it just seems like a lesser version of a ppv.

I remember really enjoying the special they did in 2009 and they didn't try to top anything that was going to happen on the PPV... They just built towards it in good fashion from what I remember.

It didn't feel like a Raw 3 hour special used to either. I don't know, I may just go back to the fact that I can't argue with more wrestling.

I remember them having half hour pre shows before each PPV where we would get to see the wrestlers turn up in their cars to be interviewed by Jeremy Borash before entering the arena. Plus we would get to see one match for free before the PPV starts. If this show is a basic pre show then it won't be good but I have high expectations for it because it is for the 10th anniversary.
