Spike TV and Bellator Fighting Championships are entering the video-game industry.

In association with Viacom Entertainment Group's 345 Games, Spike TV and Bellator announced the pending release of "Bellator: MMA Onslaught," an arcade-style MMA title.

"It was imperative that we create a mixed martial arts game accessible to all types of players, not just the hardcore MMA fan," 345 Games exec Dan Yang stated. "Fortunately, with 'Bellator: MMA Onslaught,' the player doesn't need a doctorate in gaming or MMA to enjoy the non-stop action and excitement of the game."

The game is currently slated for a summer 2012 release through the PlayStation Network and the Xbox Live Arcade.

According to the release, "gamers can customize their own fighter's look and fighting style to battle the way they want, whether it be Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing or other styles. The game also shares tips directly from Bellator fighters through exclusive video content as players continue to level-up and gain experience points, allowing them to learn MMA skills in a fun and engaging way."

"Bellator has a roster of many of the world's most exciting fighters, and we are thrilled to work with 345 Games to let fans experience our organization in a whole new way," Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney stated. "Instead of just watching Michael Chandler's incredible takedowns or Patricky 'Pitbull's' devastating knockout power, fans can now get in the cage with 'Bellator: MMA Onslaught' and either fight with or against Bellator's finest."

Boasting "fast-paced action and pick-up-play controls," "Bellator: MMA Onslaught" promises online play in addition to superfight and tournament modes against a friend or the CPU. The game also promises to mirror Bellator's format, styles, graphics and music.

Not likely to be on my list of must have games.

Yeah Idk, If they release a demo for it I'll at least check it out but still don't think I'll buy it.

They don't have any star names, so I can't seeing people rushing to get this to play as Roger Huerta or Hector Lombard.

Hell, I don't think anyone outside hardcore MMA fans know what Bellator even is. Shit, TNA promote them more than they do themselves.

The thing about the TNA game though... even though the action in it completely sucked... the graphics were really really nice looking.

Maybe that'll be the case for this one. Good graphics but crappy gameplay.
