British actress Sophia Myles has joined the cast of Transformers 4 in a major supporting role, TheWrap has learned. According to a source, she'll be playing a scientist.
Supposedly, a group of powerful (and probably greedy) businessmen will fund some kind of research that will "push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control" in the next movie. It is very likely that Myles' character will be one of the scientists doing the research. Of course, she'll also find Mark Wahlberg's character irresistible.
We learned last week that Kelsey Grammer is playing one of the (human) bad guys in the movie -- a counter-intelligence operative by name of Harold Attinger. Research? Counter intelligence? We can probably put two and two together.
Whalberg is playing the lead in the movie, with Nicola Peltz playing his daughter and Jack Reynor playing her boyfriend. Stanley Tucci is also in the movie, but we're unsure what his role is.
Since Transformers 4 will be co-produced with some Chinese companies, the movie will feature some Chinese locations and actors. In a brilliant publicity stunt, a reality show is going on right now in China to cast two professional and two amateur actors.
Michael Bay is returning to direct, and this may be his final Transformers movie before handing over the franchise to someone else. The movie is scheduled for release on June 27, 2014.
With Michael Bay involved it will have tons of explosions and a crappy story.
